We’re now 3/4 of the way through 2017 (how has that happened!?!). Which means it’s time for my 2017 project pan update 3! I’m really looking forward to sharing my progress with you. The end of the year is the time I most often tend to stray from my projects. It’s the festive season and I find I start to get bored with products that I’ve been using all year. So you may find that in my finale, I’ve made less progress, or added in a few new products that I haven’t told you about just to keep up my motivation and continue working on older products rather than reaching for newer ones. I’ll see how I feel.
2017 Project Pan Update 3: ThisWorks Turbo Balm – finished 9/7/17
I found a random ThisWorks balm almost finished just before I published my Update 2 post. So I decided to work on finishing this up, as it was rather old and then continued making progress on the balm I was already working on. I finished the older Turbo Balm on the 9/7/17 and hit pan on the third ThisWorks Turbo Balm on 12/9/17. I loved these a few years ago, but in all honesty I love the Dr PawPaw balm so much more! So now I’m just trying to use up all of my ThisWorks Turbo Balms to make space in my drawers. I’m hoping to have the third ThisWorks Turbo Balm of this project finished by the end of the year – if I can remember to use it consistently.

2017 Project Pan Update 3: The Body Shop Raspberry Lip Balm – finished 20/7/17
I was surprised how quickly I finished this lip balm up. If I’d used it continuously rather than trying to work on other things too, I think I’d have had it finished in two months. I love this lip balm, If you want to know how much, check out my The Body Shop Born Lippy Lip Balm Review. As I’ve got some lip balms to work through, I’m not going to add another lip balm in at the moment.

2017 Project Pan Update 3: Superdrug Emoji lip balm
I’ve made a little progress on this lip balm, but not as much as I’d have liked. My lips have been particularly dry, which I think is linked to my hay fever not being controlled. The only anti-histamine I’ve been able to take (because of trying for a baby and pregnacy really hasn’t done much for me at all. So this lip balm is going back in a draw, in the hope that I can make some more progress next summer.

2017 Project Pan Update 3: Urban Decay Lip Love in Failbait – finished 18/8/17
Ok, ok, so I know in my last update that I said I wasn’t going to use the Urban Decay Lip Love glosses as lip balms. But, when I tried Failbait on as a lip colour, there was just no colour to it at all. So I figured the best thing for me to do would be to use Failbait as a lip balm. Particularly as I’m trying to use up a second lipstick this year. I have to say that, having finished it up, I’m really glad I made this decision. As I was worried I wouldn’t make a dent in my lip glosses this year. I can’t remember how much I paid for this, but after a quick Google, it’s currently around about £10.

2017 Project Pan Update 3: Urban Decay Lip Love in Stung – finished 28/9/17
While Stung has got a little tint to it, I’ve been working on it as a lip balm. Gone are the days where I want a hint of colour on my lips. If a lip gloss isn’t pigmented then I don’t want to know. I’m surprised I managed to finish Stung by this update. I was aiming for it to be done by the end of the project. As I have managed to finish it, I’ll be adding my Lancome Juicy Tubes mini that I got as a free gift. I’m confident this will be finished by the finale (end of 2017) as it looks smaller than the Urban Decay Lip Loves.

2017 Project Pan Update 3: Nars Tinted Moisturiser
I’ve made a little bit of progress on my Nars Tinted Moisturiser, but not much. I’m hoping to make more progress over the festive period, but with being pregnant, who knows!
2017 Project Pan Update 3: B. Setting Powder
I’ve made no progress on my B. Setting Powder. I may use it instead of my MAC MSF Natural during the winter to try to finish it up, I’m not too sure yet.
2017 Project Pan Update 3: Barbra Daly Brow Pencil in Dark
Ok, so I know I’m not going to finish this brow pencil up by the end of 2017 and it’s really irritating me! I know I’ve made some good progress, despite not actually wearing makeup very much at all (maybe once or twice a month). So you may see this pencil popping up in my next project, but I don’t want to be boring and repetitive.
I hadn’t quite managed to finish my makeup when we left for Dan’s concert last week, so I threw my brow products and a mascara into a makeup bag and finished them in the car. Unfortunately, I left the makeup bag in the glove compartment and wasn’t able to retrieve it in time to photograph the pencil ready for this post to go live. I’ll have this updated as soon as I can, but at least you know I’m being consistent with using my project pan products!
2017 Project Pan Update 3: Benefit Gabbi Lip Liner – finished 5/9/17
I’m really surprised by how much quicker I of through lipliners compared to lipsticks! And yet, I have so many more lipsticks. I’m going to use this revelation to inspire me even more to use up my lipsticks, rather than seeing it as an opportunity to buy more lip liners. The Benefit Gabbi Lip Liner is the one I wore on my wedding day and I love it! I can’t find a price for this, but I think it was around the £13-14 mark, so we’ll go with £13.50 for the total below.
2017 Project Pan Update 3: Benefit Label Lover Lipstick – retired 5/9/17
This lipsticks is really starting to smell. As I’ve finished the lipliner up and have LOTS of other lipsticks to use up, it seemed silly to persevere with this. I’d rather throw my Benefit lipstick away and use up another lipstick while it’s good, than keep working on this and have some of my other lipsticks go bad while I’m trying to use this up. As I’ve used about half of this lipstick up, I’m only going to include half of the price in my ‘finished products’ total below.
The Benefit Gabbi Lip Liner and Label Lover lipstick were my wedding lip combination, so I’ll be sad to see them go. But I still have the eyeshadow quad I used, as well as a few other bits from our special day.
My plan is not to replace my Benefit lipstick and lip liner in this project, as I won’t manage to finish anything in 3 months. Instead, I’m going to enjoy using a selection of my older Autumn/Winter shades. This will give me some variety and hopefully inspire me to get through the two lipsticks I’ve picked for my next project.
2017 Project Pan Update 3: The Body Shop Dewberry Perfume Oil – finished 6/9/17
Ok, so in previous 2017 project pan posts, I’ve told you that I’m working on my The Body Shop Vanilla Perfume Oil. In actual fact, I’ve been working on Dewberry! I don’t know why I thought it was Vanilla, because it smells nothing like it! Vanilla was the first perfume oil I bought, so maybe that’s why it stuck in my head. Anyway…

Perfume Oil at update 3
I didn’t expect to finish my Dewberry Perfume Oil up before the end of the year, so I’m thrilled to have worked through it at this stage in my project. I want to work through my Vanilla Perfume Oil, but didn’t want to start it in August. To me it’s more of an Autumn/Winter scent. Eventually, I decided to work on my GHOST sample size fragrance for a month or so and then bring my Vanilla fragrance out once the sample is finished. This way I’m still working through my collection.
I can’t find these in The Body Shop any more, but I think they were about £5, so that’s the amount I’ve added to my total. I misplaced the bottle for a little while, otherwise this would’ve been finished sooner.

2017 Project Pan Update 3: GHOST Captivating Sample Size Perfume – Started 26/8/17, finished 14/9/17
I got this perfume sample AGES ago, and for a few years kept it in my bag to use on special occasions where I’d left the house without perfume on. If I’m honest, this was most special occasions as I used to only wear perfume on special occasions and my memory is poor. So I’d regularly forget. Having had to lighten the weight of my bag considerably, I stopped carrying this perfume sample about. GHOST Captivating is a scent I really enjoy, so I thought now would be a good time to finish it up. I have loads of samples to work through, as well as a number of full sized scents. But once I’ve made a good dent in them, I’m going to be investing in GHOST Captivating, possibly as my everyday fragrance.

2017 Project Pan Update 3: Givenchy Very Irresistible
I haven’t finished my Givenchy Very Irresistible perfume up yet, but I can definitely see some progress. I’ve probably used it 4-5 times. I’m happy with this, as I’m only using it for special occasions. With Christmas at the end of the year, I’m sure I’ll have used this perfume up by the end of 2017.

2017 Project Pan Update 3: Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold
This is the second update where there’s no progress on my Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold. As a result, I’m going to take this out of my project for now. I just don’t have the energy to regularly do more than a quick swipe of colour and mascara. Particularly as I’ve already used up more than 10 products this year and have more than 10 products that I’m working on, it seems silly to leave this Colour Tattoo in when I just know I’m not going to use it.
2017 Project Pan Update 3: Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze
I’m so close to hitting the side of the pot! I wanted to have achieved this by my third update, but I’m so close that I don’t really mind. I’m confident that I’ll manage this by the end of the year. I don’t know what I’ll do when I finish this shade up. I want to use up two cream shadows before buying another, but this is such an easy ‘one swipe and your done’ shade and is going to be a perfect ‘Mummy Makeup’ option.

2017 Project Pan Update 3: Nars Cream Blusher in Penny Lane – Hit Pan
I’ve used my Nars Penny Lane blusher a few times, but not a lot. Instead, I’ve been reaching for my Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge (cream blusher) in Powder Pink. Mostly because it goes really beautifully with the Benefit lipstick and lip liner I was working on. This was the combination I wore for my wedding. I’m quite happy with not having made much progress on Penny Lane. I reached the point I wanted to by hitting pan. I feel like I’ve not only hit pan, but made a sizeable dent in the pan. I’ve still been making progress on my cream blushes, so I’m happy. I’ll continue to work on my cream blushes, but probably wont share another update on Penny Lane in this project, unless I make some significant progress on it.

2017 Project Pan Update 3: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Zero
I hadn’t expected to finish up the first of the Urban Decay eye pencils by my second update. So seeing any progress on this second eyeliner is a bonus. And what a bonus! I’ve gone through more than I was expecting, particularly as I’ve often opted for my Maybelline Colour Tattoo on it’s own recently. I don’t think I’m going to finish the rest of this pencil by the end of 2017, but I’m going to continue to work on it to see how much progress I can make.
*This measure is accurate, but for some reason, I wasn’t able to get the angle right when taking the photo. So it looks like the pencil is too far down from the bottom of the page. This is the same with the Barbara Daly pencil.
2017 Project Pan Update 3: L’Oreal False Lash X Fiber Mascara
I know I’m not going to finish this mascara up, but I want to get as much use out of it as I can by the end of the year. At the end of 2017, I’m going to throw it out as it’ll have been open for about 9 months. I’d rather use this as a bottom lash mascara and eek my Maybelline Lash Sensational out just a little, than throw this away and waste products. I wasn’t overly impressed with this mascara, hence using it as a bottom lash mascara. You can read more about my thoughts in my L’Oreal False Lash X Fiber Mascara Review.
1. Tommy Girl Perfume – £17.99
2. Anatomicals lip balm – £4.95
3. Soap & Glory Brow Archery – £10
4. MUA Clear Brow Gel – £1
5. Nars Cream Blusher – Hit Pan
6. ThisWorks Turbo Balm – £5
7. Exclamation perfume – £5
8. Rimmel Lip Gloss – £3.49
9. Urban Decay 2/4 Eyeliner in Zero – costs £15.50 for 1.2g, so my 0.8g would cost £10.34
10. Dior Addict Lipstick – £26.50
11. ThisWorks Turbo Balm – £5
12. The Body Shop Raspberry Lip Balm – £5
13. Urban Decay Lip Love in Failbait – £10
14. The Body Shop Vanilla Perfume Oil – £5
15. Benefit Label Lover Lipstick – costs about £15, as I only used half of my lipstick before it went bad this equates to £7.50
16. Benefit Gabbi Lip Liner £13.50
17. GOSH Perfume sample – costs £25.95 for 75ml. The sample size was 6ml, so this makes it worth about £2.08.
18. Urban Decay Lip Love in Stung – £10
Total = £142.35
I have to say that this total has been really hard to put together. A lot of the products I’ve been trying to use up have been discontinued, son finding prices has been challenging. One of my aims moving forward with my makeup collection is going to be to try to use a product up while it’s still current or has only just been discontinued.
