Makeup Revolution Awesome Metals Eye Foils

I’ve always admired the amazing makeup looks shared on Instagram. One of the thing’s that’ve particularly take my eye have been the metallic shadows that just pop. You know the type, the ones you could see from space. I’ve tried & tried to recreate this effect with coloured glitter eyeshadows & MAC Fix+ or similar with absolutely no luck. That is, until I came across the Makeup Revolution Awesome Metals Eye Foils.

I love this! I picked it up in the shade Rose Gold & was in love from the first time I used it. Just look at it! The Makeup Revolution Awesome Metals Eye Foils come with a liquid primer & mixing tray, but I haven’t used these. I’m quite clumsy, so didn’t like the idea of the mess I could potentially make! Even without the liquid primer, the eye foil looks highly pigmented & lasts really well. I always use a primer as a base anyway, as my eyelids are quite oily. In these photos, I’ve used the MAC Paint Pot in Soft ochre.

I apply the Makeup Revolution Awesome Metals Eye Foils with my ring finger, placing the foil directly onto my eye lid. You could use a brush, but I would suggest sticking to a synthetic brush, as the Eye Foils have a slightly creamy, wet texture to them. They apply beautifully, so smooth & even. They really are a dream to work with!

My only disappointment with the Makeup Revolution Awesome Metals Eye Foils is that there aren’t enough shades for my liking. The website says there are 5 shades, but only shows 4 of them & I’ve never come across the 5th shade. The only shade other than Rose Gold that I can see myself using regularly would be Pure Platinum. Black Diamond would look amazing for a smokey eye look, but I don’t wear those often enough to make it worth while to purchase. I’d love to see a burn orange or maroon shade for autumn. A lilac or mauve would be stunning & a peach would be beautiful.

I’m pretty sure these were £5 when I bought mine, which is an absolute bargain. They may have been £ online & £4 in store… There was definitely a price difference between getting them online & instore. Anyway, now they’re £4 from, & £3 from! I would highly, highly recommend picking at least one of them up. You can also find them in Superdrug stores.

What a gorgeous colour and an absolute bargain! I’m definitely buying some of these!

    Liv x

    • It really is beautiful! I just wish there were more shades in the range. I’ll definitely be getting the silver one. Xx

  • This shade looks stunning!

  • El’s Fashion Fix

What a beautiful shade :) It’s so pretty and looks stunning on you! I definitely need to buy one of these lovely eye shadows for myself, great review!

    El xxx

    • Aww!!! Thank you so much El! They really are beautiful & so easy to work with. If you can find a shade you like, I’s highly recommend them. Xx

  • What a pretty shade, it looks lovely on you and has a lovely finish, I really like this shade and it’s definitely one I would wear, I agree though a peach would be stunning too xx

    Zoe ♥ MammafulZo

    • It’s stunning! The finish is something I’ve never come across before too. They definitely need to come out with more shade options. Xx

  • Corinne C

This. This is the perfect shade I’ve been looking for! I need it ha.

    Corinne x

    • It would look beautiful on you! Plus, less than a £5! What could be better!?! Xx

  • Nia Patten

    That’s a lovely post, looks great x

    • Thanks Nia, it’s a beautiful product. Xx

  • This looks absolutely amazing on you! I also find it quite hard to get a shadow to “pop”, especially when I’m using quite a few shadows for a smokey eye. I think I’m going to try to pick this up! It’s a shame about the other shades, this is probably the only one I’d use.

    • That’s such a relief to know that it’s not just me who struggles with this. I REALLY hope Makeup Revolution expand their shade range. There are so many options they could have! Xx

  • It look amazing on you. Love the metallic look.

  • Hannah Ucol

Such sparkly goodness on you! I love it! We have Makeup Revolution in the US now (only sold in Ulta though), but our range is so limited, and I don’t even think we have this!

    • I hope it comes to your soon! I’ve noticed the same with some other brands. The Maybelline Colour Tattoo Shadow Pencils haven’t launched in the UK yet & we’re still waiting for the L’Oreal highlighters that came out in the US last year. Very frustrating for those in the US & the UK! Xx

  • Oo I love the look of this, looks amazing on you! I haven’t tried their eyeshadows yet, definitely need to grab them now! Especially this shade xx

    Tamz |

    • Thanks! I’ve been less impressed with the powder eyeshadows. I can only use them with a Maybelline Colour Tattoo as a base. Not even my Urban Decay Primer Potion is enough to hold the powder shadows, but this one seems to work fine without creasing or fading whichever bas I choose to use. Xx

  • Cattleya

I love this look! You look gorgeous!

    • Thank you so much Cattleya! The shadow gives such a pretty finish. Xx

  • Oh I love this and it looks absolutely stunning on you. Xx

  • Qazi Fabia hoq

I really love how it looks! This is such an awesome thing! Too bad there r not enough shades available! U know, it’s perfect when u need to go out for party but u have no idea what to apply and there is no time for beauty inspiration!!! This is just perfect! :)

    • Thanks! This is one of my favourite looks for an evening out because it really highlights my eyes from behind my green glasses. Xx
