It feels like Autumn is in full swing, and I’ve been wrapped up in cosy jumpers every day this past week. I’m not a fan of Autumn, it’s too cold for me. But, I do love Autumn fashion! Strangely enough though, I don’t have many Autumn pieces in my wardrobe. I was lucky enough to be invited to The Fort Shopping Park, Birmingham as part of their The Fort Theory Of Shopping campaign to pick some items for my Autumn capsule wardrobe, which I’ll be sharing with you in the not too distant future. Today, I wanted to show you an outfit I’ve been wearing loads this past week, featuring the mustard chunky knit jumper * I picked up from New Look at The Fort!

Mustard is a colour I’ve shied away from. I had a mustard jumper from Primark about 13-14 years ago. But then one of my cousins made a comment along the lines of “I don’t know why anyone would wear mustard, it’s a hideous colour.” That was the last time I ever wore that jumper! Silly really, as it shouldn’t matter what someone else thinks. But I was young and eager for approval from my peers, as so many of us are at that age.
I fell in love with this mustard chunky knit jumper when Dan and I visited The Fort. After rediscovering my love for yellow over the summer with my yellow roll sleeve shirt outfit and falling in love with orange in my burnt orange outfit post, I just knew I had to give mustard another change.
When we visited The Fort, I was specifically after long line tops/jumpers to wear with jeggings. Jeggings are just so much more comfortable than jeans! This mustard chunky knit jumper fit the bill perfectly! It’s long, comfy and I love the criss cross detail in the back.
For a little extra warmth and to hide my bra, I wore a black cami top underneath my mustard chunky knit jumper. I wasn’t 100% sure how this would look with the low cut criss cross detail, but I really like it!
I’ve paired my mustard chunky knit jumper with my Black Emilee jeggings, also from New Look, which I’ve already styled in my black and burgundy check print shirt post. It looks equally good paired with the black skirt and leggings in my preppy fox outfit.
For my feet, I’ve opted for my brown knee length boots. I picked these up from New Look last year in the sale. My bag is from TKMaxx a few years ago (I can’t find a brand). My Mother-in-Law and I chose together as my birthday present. I love how the brown and the purply-burgundy look with my mustard chunky knit jumper.
At the moment, I’m wearing my navy parka. I’ve had this for about three years and it’s starting to fall apart. So, I invested in a grey coat for winter. When the weather gets colder and I say goodbye to my beloved navy parka, I’ll be switching the brown boots and purply-burgundy bag for black options.
The mustard chunky knit jumper* from New Look cost £19.99 and the black Emilee Jeggings cost £15.99.
What do you think of my mustard chunky knit jumper?
Are you a fan of mustard, or do you agree with my cousin?
I promise I’ll still keep wearing it regardless, so please feel free to share your honest thoughts!
