Laura Mercier Artist Eye Palette Review

Eyeshadow palettes are one of my favourite makeup products. I love that there is so much choice in them & you can create so many different looks with just one product. I also love that you spend a fraction of what you would if you bought each shade individually. So today I thought I would share my Laura Mercier Artist Eye palette review with you all.

The shadows in the palette are buttery & soft, as you would expect from a high end palette. Some of the shadows are more pigmented than others, as you can see from the swatches below. The shadows are nice to work with & can be build up to the desired effect with ease. I love the subtle lace detail on the packaging, which includes a magnetic closure & large mirror.

The Laura Mercier Artist Eye palette features 12 eyeshadows of 1g in weight & retails for £45. A 2.6g individual shadow would set you back £19. If we compare the prices of these you pay £3.75 per gram of product in the palette & £7.31 per gram in a single shadow!

Something interesting I noticed was that the two shadows I already owned as singles aren’t quite the same shade as in the palette. I found plum smoke to be very slightly lighter in single shadow form & it seems to swatch better than in the palette. The biggest surprise was the difference in Kir Royal. I found the individual shadow to be lighter & with less noticeable shimmers in. The palette version has definite golden shimmer running through it, where as the single shadow just has a hint of shimmer & I couldn’t say whether it was gold or silver. I don’t now whether the formula of the palette shadows is different or whether it’s just that the shade batch is different, but this is worth watching out for if you have your eye on specific shades in the palette.

Here are the palette (top) & single shadows (bottom) swatched:

  1. Ooh I love this pallet – the colours are gorgeous and I think I would wear pretty much all of them. As a huge Laura Mercier fan I’m ashamed to say I haven’t tried their eyeshadows will take a look next time I,m near a counter

    • It’s stunning! They’re such wearable shades & would suit so many different people. I’d love to know what you think if you do pick the palette up. Xx

  2. I’ve never really checked out any eye products from Laura Mercier, infact I haven’t heard much about them so this review was great and really informative! The palette does have a lovely mix of shades, and wow I wouldn’t have even noticed that the single eyeshadows differed :)

    • I’m so glad you found it helpful! I only came across it from watching American friends on YouTube, I would never have known it existed otherwise. I’d love to find out the reason why the single shadows differ & whether it’s the same for all the shadows or just a select few. Xx

  3. Great review. I’ve not purchased any Laura Mercier eye shadows yet because I’ve read such mixed things about them and just never taken the time to go and investigate myself. Definitely going to now because some of these colours are gorgeous.

    • Thanks! I haven’t found anything negative to say about the eyeshadows so definitely think it’s worth swatching them when you’re next near a counter. Maybe see if one of the makeup artists will apply them on you too to see how they sit on your eyes, as everyone is different. My eyelids are quite oily (which is strange as the rest of me is dry!) but they work beautifully with a primer. Xx

  5. I swatched this palette when I visited Sephora & I thought the pigmentation & shades were gorgeous, but I couldn’t bring myself to buy it because I don’t use mauvey eyeshadows very often on myself.

    • It is lovely, but not particularly worth it financially if you don’t use mauvey shades. Much better to spend that money on a few singles that you’ll wear often. Xx
