The Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light was one of the first contour products I bought. It was one of the, if not the first drugstore contour product available in the UK! Initially, I didn’t get on with the contour shade, so it found its way to the bottom of my draw & didn’t see the light of day for a few years. I recently pulled it out again, in the hope that my contouring skills have improved & I’ll be able to make it work for me.
I’m still not convinced on the contour shade for my skin tone. It’s very warm & I tend to suit cooler tones for a contour. They don’t have to be completely cool, as I have yellow undertones to my skin, but because I’m my skin colour is light, there is only so much warmth my face can manage without looking muddy. As a contour, this shade is just too warm for me. I’ve been using the Real Techniques Duo Fibre Contour brush as it picks up a lot less product, allowing you to apply less product & build up to your desired affect. Unfortunately, despite only using a tiny about of product, the Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light still doesn’t work for me as a contour. You can see this most prominently where I’ve contoured my forehead.
I’ve recently swatched the Sleek Face Contour Kit in Medium & the contour shade from this would be a much better match for me as it’s cooler toned. This seems odd to me, as I’m definitely not a medium skin tone. I’d have thought that the lighter shade would be cooler toned, but it seems a lot of drugstore brands like to do this. I’m going to try the contour shade as a bronzer with my Real Techniques Bronzer Brush, as I think this will be more successful.
I love the highlighter from the Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light! It’s absolutely gorgeous. It’s neutral in colour so would work with a lot of different skin tones & is highly pigmented. My photos really don’t do it justice. I used the Duo Fibre Contour brush to apply the highlighter to my face, but you could use a denser brush if you wanted even more of an impact. This highlighter is everything I expected the MAC Soft & Gentle to be. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Soft & Gentle now, but I initially found it too glittery & it took me a while to get used to it. This highlighter is shimmery without being glittery & leaves the most beautiful glow to the face. Honestly, I would repurchase the Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light again just for the highlighter if the highlighter in the Medium shade isn’t similar!
The Sleek Face Contour Kit comes as a contour & highlight, but you can also get them with a blusher in the compact. I chose to just get the contour & highlighter as I have so many blushers & the blusher in the Light compact is very similar to Nars Orgasm, which I already own in a few different Nars cheek palettes, so I didn’t see the point in adding yet another element that I already have to my collection.

The highlighter is amazing! Just a shame the contour shade isn’t to my liking. I think the Medium shade would suit me much better though & the quality of the product is lovely! Xx
I use the Medium Face Contour Kit, this one comes with a blush so it’s £10. I don’t use the blush at all but the highlight and contour shades work really well for me xxx

I knew I wouldn’t use the blush in the Light Kit as it’s so similar to Nars Orgasm, which I already own. I may pick up the Medium trio instead of the duo though, I’ll have to take a look at the blusher & see if it’s similar to anything I already have. Xx
They have a Fair shade in the trios, but not the duo… That might be even better for me if I can get my hands on it! Xx

I have Sleek’s Face Form in Light, which includes a blush colour as well. I find that the contour colour is too light for me, but I ADORE the highlighter colour – I get compliments all the time!

It’s such a pretty highlighter! It’s a shame about the contour, but the highlighter is so good that for me, it’s worth buying the kit just for the highlight! I’ve found out that, while the Contour Kit only comes in Light & Medium, the Face Form comes in Fair, Light & Medium, so I’m going to swatch both the Fair & Medium to try & work out which contour will work best for me. From pictures on the internet, the blushes in both of these don’t look like something I already have so I’d be happy to get them in the Face Form compact. Xx

This product looks amazing on you, you have lovely dewy skin, I love the highlighter shade. I’ve been using a L’Oreal one and so far it’s not going well. I think I need more practice. Or I try this one instead

Thanks! The highlighter is gorgeous, just a shame the contour isn’t the right shade. The product itself is lovely though. Is the L’Oreal contour you have their cream to powder? That might be why you’re having difficulties, it’s not as easy to work with as powders. Xx
I think I might like this kit because I tend to lean towards warmer contour shades. When I use something too cool, it ends up looking purple on my skin. The highlight shade looks so beautiful! Glad to see that it worked out for you :)
