A while ago I made the move from Blogger to WordPress, something I will be blogging about at a later date. One of the things I love about WordPress is the plugin feature. They make life so much easier & remove a lot of the coding elements that you would need to do manually in Blogger. So I thought I would share with you my 5 favourite useful WordPress Plugins with you!

Useful WordPress Plugins: Broken Link Checker
This is a very handy little plugin for blog maintenance. I’ve read that google doesn’t like it when it trails sites that have broken links so it’s good to make sure they’re all leading somewhere. The Broken Link Checker flags up when links are broken so you can fix them, saving me the job of manually checkin every link on every post & page of my blog regularly.
Useful WordPress Plugins: Pinterest Hover Pin It Button
The official Pinterest ‘Pin It’ Button needs little explanation. Instead of needing to add code to your blog for a ‘Pin It’ button, the plugin does it for you! You can choose the size, shape & design of your Pinterest ‘Pin It’ button.
Useful WordPress Plugins: Rel Nofollow Checkbox
Where as Blogger has the option to add a nofollow link when you insert it, WordPress doesn’t as standard. That’s where this little plugin comes in very handy! This plugin adds an nofollow option to the Insert/Edit Link box, making adding a nofollow link straight forward. You can add code to do this, but I’d rather avoid the coding option where at all possible!
Useful WordPress Plugins: Revive Old Posts (Formerly Tweet Old Posts)
I used to schedule an old post link to a tweeted each day This plugin means I never have to! It revives your old content & tweets to your timeline. Not only will it tweet content it can also be set to post to Facebook & Tumblr. You can set the minimum interval of time for sharing, as well as the minimum & maximum age of posts to be shared. You can set the plugin to include certain hashtags when it tweets your posts too! So now I can just sit back & let my blog take care of sharing older posts, leaving me free to concentrate on current ones.
Useful WordPress Plugins: Yoast SEO
My .com blog address went live mid-July this year. By mid-October, my blog had reached a Domain Authority of an amazing 13! This was the first update my blog was included in & I was over the moon! I was hoping for a 4 or 5! I put at least some of this down to the Yoast SEO plugin. This plugin adds a section below your post text editor that allows you to set a focus keyword & meta description. It also shows whether your keyword is included in your article heading, page title, page URL, content & meta description. The plugin lets you know if your SEO is bad, ok or good. There is a page analysis that goes into more detail, advanced settings (which I’ve left well alone!) & a social setting. Ever left your link on twitter or Facebook & a random image has been accompanying it? You can set this in the plugin’s social section! I don’t know how to set an image for your blog’s home URL yet though.
I really hope you found this useful. What are your favourite useful WordPress plugins?
