Another event I was really lucky to be able to attend while my blog was down was the #WestMidlandsBloggerMeet, organised by the #PLBEvents, bade up of the lovely Adele from Adele Smith & Kirsty from Just A Little Bit Ginger.
The venue for this event was the Rainbow Club (a pub) in Digbeth, Birmingham. Other than being propositioned for sex while in Digbeth, I loved the venue! It was small, but the perfect size for the number off bloggers & brands. There were band posters on the walls & the inside of the main entrance was a Tardis! There were about 20 bloggers & 4 brands in attendance, with some other brands having sent things for us to check out. I was thrilled to see Charlotte from Discovering Charlotte at the event! We had both been to #BloggersFestival & met in a large group before hand, but hadn’t properly got the chance to chat.
Charlotte & I first went & had a lovely chat to one of the ladies from Coppa Feel, a charity that go into schools to talk to girls about the importance of checking their breasts regularly. Do you check your breasts? Do you know what to look for? It’s not all about lumps. There are a number of changes that can occur in the breast tissue. Did you know that not all breast cancer presents with a tactile lump? That’s why it’s so important to check for any sign of change & flag it up with your GP if you are concerned. Want to know more about the signs of breast cancer? You can check them all out on the Coppa Feel website.
After chatting for some lovely bloggers, it was time to listen to some talks that had been arranged for us. I loved this aspect of the day! The first to speak was Elizabeth, from Rosalilium, a Pinterest Ambassador. She shared loads of tips about Pinterest with us, direct from Pinterest HQ! I learned an awful lot from this & have already changed my Pinterest strategy accordingly! Then was a talk from Chelsea from Loving Life In Wellies about blogger/brand relationships. I didn’t take as much away from this, as it was aimed more at bloggers just starting out in partnering with brands.
As I was looking round some of the pre-prepared tables, I bumped into Tasha from Nutella Tasha, who I haven’t seen in a while! It was lovely to see her again & we had a great catch upI then headed over to chat with the lovely Gemma from Skin Sincere. Gemma was so knowledgable about her products, as well as allergies & eczema. She sent me some samples to try in the post & I was overwhelmed by the sheer fact that she remembered my (extensive) list of allergies & which products were suitable for me! I’m looking forward to sharing my thoughts on these with you soon.
The raffle was drawn to finish the afternoon. We raised a total of £93 for the mental health charity Mind, a fantastic cause. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the brands who donated prizes & helped us reach this total. I was unbelievably luck to have my ticket pulled first, so I got my pick of the prizes! I knew that Jewellery Box had kindly donated a prize. When I saw the box with all the little wrapped up boxes in boxes, I thought I was picking one. I wasn’t – I got to take the whole thing home! Want to see what’s inside? I’ll be showing you this, plus sharing a few of the jewellery I’ve bought from Jewellery Box in Wednesday’s post.
I walked back to the train station with Charlotte. We both had over an hour before our journeys, so we sat & had a drink in a coffee shop & chatted. It was as though we’d known each other for years!

Thank you to Adele & Kirsty for organising the event. It was the first of their #PLBEvents & an overwhelming success. If you ever get a chance to go to something they’ve organised do, you won’t be disappointed! Thank you also to the brands who came & to Charlotte & Tasha for their help during the day. I was having some difficulty walking at times & these two made things so much easier for me!

I love the photo of my wrist here!! I have a beautiful wrist! Haha I totally feel like we are the same person and I hope the next time we meet we both have hours until our transport home again for another drink and a catch up :)
Yes you do! I feel the same, we get on so well & have so much in common. That’s a fantastic idea, I usually just get the next train but would 100% stop for a (long) drink with you before making my way home. It was the perfect way to end the day! Xx
