Styling A Wood Watch With JORD Watches

You may or may not have noticed that I like to put my personality into my outfits, whether it be subtly or more obvious. This is an outfit post that I’ve been planning for a while, but have felt like it was missing a ‘me’ touch. Don’t get me wrong, I feel like the sandals are very much reflective of my personality and I’m loving wearing heels again, but it felt like something was missing. That is, until I received my Frankie 35 Zebrawood and Champagne JORD watch*, a gorgeous wood watch.

With this outfit, I really feel that my JORD wood watch is the star of the show. The simplicity of the outfit really sets it off as the hero piece. Not only that, but you’ve probably gathered now that I like to be a little different. What’s more different than a wood watch!?! Ok, in blogger circles, a wood watch is becoming ever more popular. But in my normal (what is ‘normal’ any way!?!) life, my JORD Frankie 35 Zebrawood and Champagne watch ($179) is a one of a kind.

JORD have so many gorgeous wood watches to choose from. I opted for the Frankie 35 Zebrawood and Champagne watch for a few different reasons. Firstly, the watch dial is a cream shade. This was the easiest colour option for me to read with my dyslexia and Mears-Irlen syndrome. With text, I can only read black (or really dark blue) on a white background. Anything else interferes with the way my precision tinted lenses work. It’s a little easier when shapes are involved (like dials on a clock) but I can’t deviate far from the white text/black background scenario or I’d end up turning up to places late/early. Cream and gold are a manageable combination for me.

I opted for the Frankie 35 instead of the Frankie series because of size and weight. I’ve small wrists, so big watch faces can look silly on me and the extra weight would cause problems with my hypermobile Ehlers-Dalos syndrome.

I’m really pleased with how my JORD wood watch fits, feels and looks on me.

I found these black pleated shorts in H&M quite a few years ago. They were in the sale and I bought them on a whim. I’m really glad I did! They’re particularly flattering on my larger thighs. These shorts have been in the loft for a few years and came down recently as I’ve lost quite a bit of my Gabapentin weight. I realised recently that I didn’t own a plane white t-shirt, so I went on the hunt for one with this very outfit in mind (I’d already spied the jacket and decided I wanted it). I found this white scoop neck t-shire in River Island (£10 for 1, £18 for 2) and I love how it looks.

I’d seen this pink faux leather jacket in New Look, but was holding off buying it because it was £40. Then I received a 20% off code and figured it was the perfect time to treat myself. I’ve got so much wear out of my black faux leather jacket, so I knew at £32 this pink jacket would be a good investment. It came with a belt attacked, but I remover it pretty sharp-ish. There was no way that was going to end well with my wheels! Unfortunately, it’s currently only available in stores.

My tan New Look wedges and my tan Next bag are the perfect shade for summer. I love how they look with the pink of the jacket and the colour of my JORD wood watch. As the JORD watch has gold detail, I decided to wear my double heart necklace. I really like how the two different coloured golds work in this necklace. As my wedding and engagement rings are silver coloured, I love wearing two tone necklaces when I want to wear a piece that’s non-silvers coloured. I feel like it ties my jewellery together nicely.

  1. Really interesting post, when we don’t suffer from something, we don’t fully understand some the issues. The watch is lovely and I love the face, great that it helps you see it better. You have styled it up really well, and i also think you have fab long legs (not in a weird way of course, lol).

    • Thank you so much! I used to really dislike my legs, particularly my thighs. But as I’ve got older and dealt with my weight losses and gains, I’ve learned to appreciate my legs. The JORD watches are gorgeous! Photos really don’t do them justice. Xx

  2. You are looking so pretty Tania. Watch is only a stuff but its getting valued when you wear it. Really looking fabulous in this wood watch. Recently, I also gifted a wood watch to my husband from “Lux Woods” and it also has a tremendous look. I will love to have a wood watch from Jord as well, in future if I need then I will definitely try it once.
