2019 Project Pan Finale

Wow! Hasn’t this year flown by?! The end of the year is a great time to reflect and plan. To see what works for you and what you might change. One of the things I love about project panning is that I learn something from each update. The big thing that I’ve taken from the past 3 months of project panning is that I need a break. So, my 2019 Project Pan Finale will be my last project pan blog post for a while.

In terms of makeup, I’m keeping things simple at the moment – just concealer (under my eyes), mascara, brows and a lip colour. With this set formula, the only option for variety is to switch up my lip shade. I’ve found that with my project pan I’ve felt that I have to focus on the lip products that I’ve been trying to use up, which takes some of the fun away from getting ready. I love being able to reflect my mood in my makeup and using the same lip colour when the rest of my makeup is basic feels like it’s removing an element of individuality and expression.

Another quite profound thing that I’ve taken from the last 3 months of project panning is that I want to be using products that I love, rather than having them sitting in a draw while I spend time and effort using up products that I don’t want any more. All while the products I love are getting closer and closer to going off and needing to be thrown away and replaced. So, as an act of self care (allowing myself to use products I truly love), I’ve decided to sort through my makeup and offer to friends the products that I’d otherwise put into a project pan.

2019 Project Pan Finale: No7 Exfoliator and Hydrating Mask

Not going to lie, I completely forgot that these two products were in my project pan. As a result, I haven’t looked at them, let alone used them! My skincare routine is better than it was this time last year, but is still far from ideal. Something I would like to continue to improve in 2020.

2019 Project Pan Finale: John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum

I really expected to have finished this serum up by the end of the year, but still have a decent amount left. When we went to stay with my parents, I spotted a John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum in the bathroom. It turns out that my Mum has started using it! So, because I prefer my Natural World Hair Oil, I’m going to be passing my Frizz Ease Serum to my Mum.

2019 Project Pan Finale: Collection Highlighting Concealer

When I’m not wearing face makeup (almost all the time now!), a highlighting concealer is my jam! The Collection Highlighting Concealer is a great affordable option and I’ve used it most of the days I’ve applied makeup. You can see by the rubbed off labelling that this highlighter has been well loved. However, I have no idea how much product is left because of the style of packaging.

2019 Project Pan Finale: Benefit Porefessional

I’ve still got a lot of product left in my Benefit Porefessional. While I’m disappointed not to have made more progress with it, I can see that I’ve made significantly more progress with it in the past three months than I have previously. So I’m taking this as a positive.

2019 Project Pan Finale: L’Oreal Colour Riche Lip Gloss in Molto Mauve

Another product that I can’t tell how much is left. Motto Mauve is a great everyday shade for me and I’m disappointed that the line has been discontinued. While I’d like to wear a variety of different lip colours in 2020, I can see myself reaching for this lip gloss on a regular basis. Particularly on days where I want simple makeup and don’t have time to think about what I’m putting on my face.

2019 Project Pan Finale: Lancome Colour Fever Lipstick in Walk The Catwalk Brown – Destroyed by Elise

A matter of days after adding this lipstick to my project pan, Elsie got hold of it and smooshed it (get me with my technical terms. Haha). I decided to put the remaining product into a small pot and apply it like a lip balm. However, this didn’t go so well and I ended up with product outside of my lip line, looking a little silly. I also found it messier than I expected. So all in all, not worth the hassle. I love this colour and finish, so am going to keep the pot in my bag and try and find a dupe since it’s been discontinued.

2019 Project Pan Finale: Browhaus Classic Brow Lead*

This is probably the only product that I’m intending to continue using until it’s finished up. While it’s not a great shade for the tails of my brows, it works for the main portion where it isn’t so sparse. Using the Browhaus Classic Brow Lead in the body of my brows makes the other product I’m using (currently the NYX Micro Brow Pencil) last longer. 2019 Project Pan Finale: Dr PawPaw Pinky Peach Balm

After previously working through an entire tube of Dr PawPaw balm in 3 months, I fully expected this to be finished up. I’ve been sporadic in my use, so am nowhere near finished. But, have still made some good progress. The lid has broken and I find the tinted balms a little messy and they stain the skin. So this is going to find it’s way into the bin.

I haven’t finished any of my project pan products up over the past 3 months. But that’s ok. I’ve made progress with some of them and came to the realisation that I need a break from project panning for a little while. How long that will be, I don’t know. We’ll just have to wait and see.
