Styling A Cold Shoulder Strappy Jumper

A white t-shirt and jeans is such a classic look, but in the winter it’s just too cold. Enter the Dorothy Perkins Ivory Cold Shoulder Strappy Jumper!

I got this jumper for Christmas and I love it. I’ve never had and off the shoulder jumper. I’ve always though that they look great, but thought that I wouldn’t be able to wear one and stay warm. However, my mother-in-law is a amazing at picking me clothes that I’d never buy for myself, but then end up loving! The Dorothy Perkins Ivory Cold Shoulder Strappy Jumper is no exception to this.

I’ve been wearing this jumper a lot since I got it and my favourite way to style it is with a pair of jeans and tan boots.

I have to admit that I’m a little concerned to just wear a jumper on it’s own. What if I get hot? Or what if I spill something on my jumper and have to take it off? What if you can see my bra through the knit of the jumper? To get round all the what if’s I have, I wear a white camisole underneath this cold shoulder strappy jumper. That way I don’t loose the bare skin detail but feel a little more confident.

The only draw back I have with wearing this jumper is that I’m don’t feel that I can wear it when I’m using my wheelchair. I can end up with dirt on my sleeves from wheeling, and with this jumper being ivory, I’m not confident that I’d be able to get the marks off.

I have difficulty finding jeans that fit me and my tree trunk thighs, but New Look have come to my rescue. Their jeans are comfy and fit well. This pair are from their straight leg range and I’ve had them for a few years now.

If you’ve seen some of my other outfit photos, you’ll probably recognise my boots. They’re also from New Look. I have wide feet and I find that New Look’s footwear range are comfortable to wear. I love that they have a wide fit range, but I find that I can usually get into their standard width shoes without any problem.

My necklace is one from Dan. I don’t wear it often, as I tend to stay away from red in my outfits and accessories. However, it looks beautiful against the Ivory cold shoulder styappy jumper and I think the warmth of the tan boots compliments it really well.

I also have on my Pandora Delicate Bow Ring, my Apple iWatch and my wedding and engagement ring, which Dan designed himself. On my nails I have Essie’s Parka Perfect.

    • Thank you so much! I have a loose black t-shirt with a cut out detail, which I love. I’m so glad that I have this jumper now too. I really like the sound of a jumper with a cut out detail, I’ll be keeping my eye out for one when the shops start stocking summer fashion again. XX

    • That’s so frustrating! I had that problem with skinny jeans. They look amazing on so many people, but the ones I’m lucky enough to get over my hips just look awful! Xx

  2. I wear camis under my jumpers most of the time too especially the big ones as I always cold! I’m loving cold shoulder tops/ jumpers this season and I have a few of them. You look fab in this! xx

    • I tend to wear long sleeve t-shirts under jumpers, I get so cold! I think that’s part of why I didn’t think a cold shoulder jumper would work for me. I definitely want to get more, now that I know I’m not going to get cold. I have one t-shirt with the cold shoulder detail too, and am going to be on the hunt for more. Xx
