Q1. What are your hopes and plans for 2017?

It’s great to have hopes and plans. It’s lovely to see so many of the #SpoonieSpeak community have big dreams and that you’re putting your health first.

Q2. What are you going to need to do to make these a reality?

One of the reasons I love to make goals is that I can then make small plans to make my goals a reality. It’s great to hear that everyone is thinking about how they can make their goals a reality. I love that the #SpoonieSpeak community is able to share tips to help each other.

Q3. What might make it harder to achieve what you want?

Life is harder with a chronic illness, there’s no doubt about it. It takes us more energy to do things, and we have less energy than most people to begin with. That’s without flare ups, a lack of accessibility and not enough support. We shared the things we think may make it harder to achieve our plans and in question 4, look at how we can overcome these.

Q4. What can you put in place to minimise barriers to you achieving your plans?

Having plans to achieve our goals is great, but things can get in the way. Particularly when your health is temperamental. It can be really helpful to have an idea of what to do to minimise these difficulties. But, it’s also important to remember that it’s ok not to know how to minimise the problems our health throws at us.

Q5. How will you get round problems that will inevitably arise?

Along with thinking about how to minimise problems, it can be helpful to have a plan of how to deal with them when they inevitably arise. There is no way we can plan for every eventuality, and it’s important to remember that that’s ok.

    • Me too! Unfortunately the hashtags for my main account aren’t appearing in searches, so I can’t take part in blogger chats. I’m glad my Spoonie Speak account is still working as it should. Thank you so much for your lovely message. I hope you have a fantastic 2017. I miss you! Xx
