Everyday Superdrug Skincare Routine

During the summer holidays (yes, it’s taken me a VERY long time to get this post up), we went to visit my parents in Essex. My memory is pretty bad and I usually forget to pack at least one thing. This time, it was my cleanser. When trying to figure out how to get round this problem, I realised that all but one of my everyday skincare products are Superdrug own brand and the one that isn’t can be bought from Superdrug. So I thought I’d put together an everyday Superdrug Skincare routine post for you. I hope that this is helpful, particularly for those on a tight budget. I’ve been there and it’s hard when people recommend something that’s £15+, when you’ve asked for ‘affordable’ recommendations. Yes, I know everyone’s definition of affordable is different, but when you’ve specified ‘less than £10’, it’s hard when people ignore this. Anyway…

Everyday Superdrug Skincare Routine: Cleanser (£2.99)

The cleanser I’ve been using for a few years now is the Simply Pure Conditioning Cleanser. This creamy textured cleanser is gentle on my skin even when my eczema has flared up, while doing a good job of removing gently removing the dirt of the day.

Everyday Superdrug Skincare Routine: Toner (£5.99)

After a recent conversation with some skincare loving friends, I’m not sure that the product I’ve been using as a toner is designed for this purpose. As this is what I’m currently using, let’s just go with it and you can tell me in the comments if micellar water counts as a toner.

My micellar water of choice is the Garnier Micellar Water for Combination and Sensitive Skin (green top). It’s that little bit kinder to my dry, sensitive, allergy prone skin than their standard version (the pink top). I’ll happily use the standard version and have a travel sized one for the few overnight stays I have in my diary.

Everyday Superdrug Skincare Routine: Serum (£2.99)

Since being introduced to this serum by Ting from The Ting Thing, I’ve barely used anything else. The Simply Pure Hydrating Serum for sensitive skin is a great, affordable choice. I use this morning and night to give my skin that little extra nourishment.

I’ve recently discovered that Superdrug have launched a night time version of this serum, which I’m excited to try.

Everyday Superdrug Skincare Routine: Eye Cream (£10.99)

When my usual Balance Snake Venom Eye Cream eye cream became harder to get hold of, I knew it was time to find something else. I stumbled across B.’s range of eye creams and was pleasantly surprised that I had a choice of eye creams to choose from (because they don’t include any ingredients I’m allergic to). Currently, I’m using the B. Radiant Eye Cream, designed to moisturise and firm the under eye area.

I also have their 3D Eye Cream to try (bought in an offer with the Radiant Eye Cream). The 3D Eye Cream is designed to increase hydration of the under eye area – something I desperately need!

Everyday Superdrug Skincare Routine: Moisturiser (£4.29)

Recently, my go-to moisturiser, the Simply Pure Light Emulsion Moisturiser has disappeared from the shelves. This had previously been the Light Moisturiser, which I’d also loved.

So I’ve had to hunt around for a different moisturiser.

I stumbled across an offer on Simple skincare and found that I am able to use two of their moisturisers (I’m on a roll with low allergen skincare products at the moment!). One of these was the Simple Kind To Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser. With its rich, thick consistency, it gives my skin hydration that lasts. I have the Hydrating Light Moisturiser as a mini to keep in my bag and in full size as part of the offer. It’s nice and I’ll use it up, but when it comes to repurchasing, I’ll be picking up another of the Replenishing Rich Moisturiser.

Superdrug often have offers on their skincare, including ‘buy one, get one ½ price on Simply Pure’ and ‘better than half price on selected Superdrug and B. skincare’. So it’s worth planning in advance and checking in store and online regularly to get the best deal for you. Because if you’re like me, you don’t have £10.99 to spend on an eye cream!
