GOSH Eye Xpression Review In Back To Nature

I tend to prefer high end eyeshadows. I’ve tired a number of high street options and most I’ve found to be dry, powdery and crease. They’re just not fun to use. While I love a bargain as much as the next person, buying high street eyeshadow that perform in this way seems like a false economy to me. GOSH is a high street brand that I’ve found to be exceptional quality, so I was excited to try their GOSH Eye Xpression in Back To Nature*. Spoiler alert: The GOSH Eye Xpression is an exception to my general experience of high street eyeshadow.

There are three shades in the GOSH Eye Xpression line, Back To Nature, Thunder Storm and Urban Nature. These 4-in-1 palettes contain one shimmery eyeshadow and three matte shades. All three of these palettes is suitable for both vegetarians and vegans. They’re perfume and paraben free. Another excellent reason to pick one of these palettes up over that of another brand is that GOSH are a cruelty free brand.

When I first swatched the GOSH Eye Xpression in Back To Nature, I was blown away! The All four shadows in the quad are soft, smooth and buttery. They were also intensely pigmented, which I was really pleased about. I’ve found glittery eyeshadows in general to be hit or miss, but the glitter shade in Back To Nature is most definitely a hit. The shimmers don’t disappear when applied and give a beautiful shimmer to the eyes. I love how this shade makes my eyes look bright and awake.

In the photo above, the glitter shadow doesn’t look much. In fact, it looks like I’ve only applied it just above my eyeliner. But this is part of it’s charm. It catches the light (in this case just above the lash line) and gives a beautiful glow. Please excuse my hair in the above photos. I’m not sure why, but it seems to be very static at the moment!

All four shadows from the GOSH Eye Xpression in Back To Nature apply and blend beautifully. They’re very easy to work with and last throughout the day without creasing. It’s the perfect palette for a natural, every day look with a pop.

My only slight disappointment with the GOSH Eye Xpression is that it doesn’t contain a matte brow bone shade. My the skin of my eyelids is thin and my veins are visible. I like to camouflage this as much as possible. The lack of a brow bone share isn’t a big issue for me though.

I have several large palettes and, other than those from Too Faced, the brow bone shades are the same size as all the others. They’re always the ones I hit pan on first, because I use them with every look. I have one or two single brow bone shades, like the Bobbi Brown eyeshadows in Bone and Ivory. I use these when my palettes no longer have a brow bone shade. In the photos, I’ve used the Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in Bone, along with the GOSH Eye Xpression in Back To Nature, and will continue to do this.

I’m going to be packing this quad when I go away to the Lake District for a few days, as it will compliment a red lip beautifully.

    • Thank you so much! It’s a shame I have to cover my eyes with my precision tinted lenses. So I use makeup to try to make my eyes stand out more. Xx

    • I’ve been so impressed! I’ll definitely be heading straight to GOSH if I want an eyeshadow or eyeshadow palette but don’t want to splurge. Xx

    • They’re gorgeous! I don’t think my photos, particularly on my eyes have done the pigmentation justice. I find the mattes to be the same quality as those of Smashbox and Too Faced, and the shimmer shade I’ve found to be much more pigmented than in the Smashbox Full Exposure palette. Xx

    • Yes! I find all shimmery palettes so frustrating, so it’s nice that GOSH have thought of this when creating the Xpression quads. I hope if you pick on up you love it as much as I do. Xx
