#lovelipbalm | Emoji Lip Balm Review

Summer is well & truly in full swing. If you’re like me, you won’t want to be wearing a thick, heavy lip balm. As a result, something lighter is perfect for the warmer months. With their summer scents, the #lovelipbalm from Superdrug are ideal for this time of year.

Firstly, how cute is the packaging!?! Each of the 10 #lovelipbalm scents has a different emoji on it’s tin lid. I love them all, as they include some of my most used emojis.

So, I have three of the #lovelipbalm shades, Kisses Juicy Watermelon*, Wink Grape Crush* & Teeth Mint Tingle*. Each of the lip balms is a different colour, in line with their scents. Something I really like is that the tint doesn’t show up on your lips. Turquoise lips are not my style, especially on no/low makeup days when I’m most likely to reach for lip balm.

The #lovelipbalm are thin in consistency, just what you want when it’s really hot. These lip balms are designed to leave your lips soft, which they definitely do in summer. But, I don’t think they’d be enough for me in the winter, as my lips get REALLY dry & cracked in cold weather. As a result, I tend to need two different lip balms, one for cold & one for warm weather. So the fact that these are unlikely to be ideal for me in the winter isn’t a problem for me. If your lips don’t usually get too dry in the winter, these would probably be suitable all year round.

The scents of the #lovelipbalm watermelon, grape & mint lip balms are gorgeous. The grape scent is a little artificial. It smells similar to Calpol, so great for reminiscing about childhood! As grapes don’t really have a scent to them, it isn’t surprising that the scent isn’t a natural one, but I still love it! Mint & watermelon are true to their name in terms of how they smell.

My favourite of the three for really hot days is the mint, as it has a mild cooling effect on the lips. This is a perfect addition for helping me regulate my temperature & reduce my PoTS symptoms, which are always much worse in the heat.

Something I love about Superdrug is that the majority of the ingredients for their own brand products are available online, perfect if you have allergies! You can also find the ingredients on the back of each #lovelipbalm tin. So this makes it easy to find one that is suitable for you.
