It seems like we’ve gone from winter straight to summer & bypassed spring! With our new found gorgeous weather, I thought I’d share with you my thoughts on the first ever bronzer I bought, the Rimmel Sun Bronzer. I have two shades, so I’ll be talking about both the Light Matte, & the Light Shimmer!

Light Shimmer was the first shade I picked up. I really liked it, but then became a little paranoid that I looked like a disco ball, which is silly, because the glitter particles are very subtle on the face just like they are in the Nars Laguna Bronzer. So I decided the get the shade Light Matte.

Rimmel Sun Bronzer in Light Matte with MAC MSF Natural as a base
I think it says a lot for the quality of the bronzer that I’ve picked it up in two different shades. This bronzer applies really nicely & evenly. I use either the Real Techniques powder brush or the Real Techniques Bronzer brush to apply the Rimmel Sun Bronzer.

In terms of the shades of Light Shimmer & Light Matte, Light Shimmer is warmer toned & Light Matte is cooler toned. I didn’t appreciate this until I watched them net to each other. I would usually say that these would suit yellow & pink toned skins respectively. The Rimmel Sun Bronzer is a subtle bronzer on my light skin, so because of this I think that either of these would be suitable for those with lighter skin tones, regardless of their undertones.

The packaging is simple, but effective. I love the way it feels in my hand & it’s easy to open. I managed to break the hinge of my Light Matte by dropping it, but I have had this bronzer for more than 10 years now, so it’s doing pretty darn well! Because of the broken lid & my having owned this bronzer for 10 years, I’m trying to work through it & will be putting it in a project pan at some point.
I haven’t tried contouring with the Rimmel Sun Bronzer yet, but I’ll be giving it a try as I think it will work nicely because it’s such a subtle shade.

I would highly recommend the Rimmel Sun Bronzer in Light Shimmer & Light Matte, particularly to those with light skin or those who are new to bronzing. If you have a darker skin tone, I’d suggest swatching some of the darker shades in store as the quality of the powders is lovely! You get 11g of product for just £5.59 from Superdrug.com – bargain!

Ooooh these sound fab! I’ve got really pale skin too and I’m always worried about bronzer being too dark for my skin, but these really blend into yours well. I think this will have to be a must-buy for me this summer at that price!

These are so good that I honestly wish I’d just stuck to these two & not tried any others! Though I am glad I picked up Nars Laguna (the next bronzer I bought), nothing after that has compared to these two! Xx
I’m not a huge fan of glitter in my bronzers but these ones look subtle enough that I won’t mind. I’m a pale girl, so I think these will be up my alley. Thank you for sharing, Tania!

You’re welcome! I’m so glad this was helpful for you. The glitter really is super subtle, it gives a nice glow without a glittery or shimmery look. Xx
I’ve actually hit pan on one of these Rimmel bronzers in the past! Right now I’m using nars Laguna, urban decay beached bronzer, and hourglass’ bronzer. I usually just rotate between the three ;-)

I don’t think I’m far from hitting pan on Light Matte myself! I love Laguna & the Urban Decay Beached Bronzer looks nice too. I’m hoping to pick up some of the UD highlighters, they’ve really caught my eye! Xx
Lovely post, dear! Thanks for sharing .x

Thanks! Nars Laguna is gorgeous & surprisingly I like Casino too with a light hand. I’d love to know if you find a shade you like. Xx
I will :)
I find bronzers that suit my pale skin a complete nightmare to find so I’ll definately be picking this one up when I’m next in Boots.
Thanks for the recommendation!
