We all know that skincare is key to any beauty routine. Makeup, however good it is, can only do so much. However, I’ve avoided experimenting with skincare because of my many allergies. I’ve found a basic skincare routine that works and I’ve stuck to it. That is, until recently. I know my skin needs a little more love, so I’m very carefully and tentatively trying some new products. Recently, I tried the Transformulas Hydration Gold *, an anti-aging creme that contains 23 carat gold powder.

My skin is dry, eczema prone and sensitive. I’m lucky that I don’t experience many blemishes and those I do are hormonal. Now that I’m in my 30s, anti-aging products are something I feel I should be looking at.
As well as 23 carat gold powder, the Transformulas Hydration Gold contains Hyaluronan. Between them, these two ingredients work to hydrate, nourish and soften the skin. They regenerate cell tissue and fight toxic substances that can leave skin looking aged. The Transformulas Hydration Gold can be used as a skincare product and to enhance your makeup.
Before using the Transformulas Hydration Gold, my skin was looking pretty dull. I’d finished my Kathleen Silk Miracle Essence about a month ago and my skin was looking worse for wear as a result of not having a nourishing treatment. After using the Transformulas Hydration Gold, my skin was back to looking lovely!
As a skincare product, it’s advised to use the Transformulas Hydration Gold twice a day. However, this is something I wouldn’t advise. During the first couple of days using the product, I noticed that I had lots of small gold glitter particles on my face at the end of the day. As I didn’t want to look like a disco ball, I decided it best to only apply the Transformulas Hydration Gold once a day, in the evening.
As my face is quite dry, I needed to use two pumps per application. I’ve applied the Transformulas Hydration Gold once a day in this quantity for a month and have almost finished the 15ml bottle. So I’m glad I decided to use this just once a day.
I’ve really enjoyed using the Transformulas Hydration Gold. It’s left my skin feeling soft, supple and with a natural radiance. Unfortunately, this month I’ve experienced my worst hormonal break out to date. However, I don’t think the Transformulas Hydration Gold had contributed to this in any way. I’d used the creme for at least a week without a hint of a spot, so I think was just my hormones playing games – thanks PMS (not)!

The Transformulas Hydration Gold can also be used to enhance your makeup. Either mixed in with foundation to give s subtle glow or applied to the high points of the face and body to highlight. I haven’t tried this, as I’d personally rather use a less expensive highlighter and save the Transformulas Hydration Gold for it’s skincare benefits. I like that it’s a multi-purpose product and can see that this would really appeal to some people.
At £41.95 for 15ml, that lasts for a month, the Transformulas Hydration Gold is not an affordable option. However, if you have some money to invest in skincare and are looking for an anti-aging product, it’s definitely one to pick up. You can find the Transformulas Hydration Gold on transformulas.com.

I haven’t heard of this before – it seems quite expensive for a product that only lasts a month but at the same time, it sounds good. I always admire your beautiful skin in photos! xx

It’s great and I would have considered buying it if it lasted longer. Even if I had £42 a month to spend on skincare, I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing so. But then I can’t imagine me ever having loads of money to the point where I don’t have to consider how much things cost. If I did, I might feel differently. Xx
Looks like a lovely hydrating product, but there’s nothing in the ingredient list to justify the price. This is why I love reading reviews!!!
I have to admit that I don’t know anything about the cost of ingredients. My focus when reading ingredients is always allergens and I’ve had to do a lot of research to be able to identify latin terms for my allergens. I (an probably most people) would have assumed that the 23 carat gold powder would be the reason for the price. It just goes to show what clever marketing can do. Xx
