This year I got back into the reading grove & love it, so wanted to share with you my 2016 reading list! I used to read on my Kindle when travelling to different schools to teach, but since I stopped that my reading has dwindled. I find reading tricky at times because of my dyslexia & Mears-Irlen syndrome. I got back into it when The Olive Fox launched, as they have a book club that I join in with & I love it! If you haven’t already, you should definitely check it out! As well as being part of this, there are some additional books I want to read. I’m hoping to be able to share them with you in reviews in the future.

The Silmarillion, J.R.R. Tolkien
From the writer of the ‘The Hobbit’ & ‘The Lord Of The Rings’, The Silmarillion is a collection of five short works that explain the history of the from the Earth’s conception. This book was compiled by Tolkien’s son Christopher & published after the author’s death in 1973. I really enjoy the folklore & mythology behind Tolkien’s works so am very much looking forward to this book.
A Spy Among Friends, Ben MacIntyre
Based on a true story, A Spy Among Friends tells the true story of the friendship & betrayal of two spies, Nicholas Elliott & Kim Philby, during the Cold War. I bought this book 18 months ago for my recovery from my knee operation, but never picked it up. It would be a shame not to read it, especially as it is an important piece of our history.
Reconstructing Amelia, Kimberly McCreight
This book was a recommendation from a friend who has great taste in books, so I’m really looking forward to reading it.

The Life-Changing Magic Of Tidying Up, Marie Kondo
I know a lot of people have read this book & I’ve heard great things about it. I really need to not only become tidier, but also more organised. I think if I can master one the other will become easier. I definitely want to find out what all the fuss is about & hopefully it will help get my life back on track, as I outlined in my 2016 Goals post.
Undressing Disability, various
Who’s been published but my good friend Sarah from Sarah In Wonderland! Enhance The UK are a charity who are working to change the perceptions of disabled people in the UK. They launched this book with true stories of relationships & intimacy with disability from those who have first hand experience of this. I think Enhance The UK are a wonderful organisation & I can’t wait to support them in this. I’m also hoping to find some comfort in the experiences of others to know that I’m not alone!
What books are on your 2016 reading list? Are there any others I should be reading?

I spy the Hunger Games trilogy in your photo – I really want to read those, because I’ve loved the films so far (still need to see the last two!). I think I’ll add them to my reading list for this year
I love the films, but haven’t read the books. I probably should! I think I found them at TKMaxx as a set for a bargain price & couldn’t resist! Xx

I have to admit, I haven’t read either, but I love the films. Maybe I should add them to my reading list, if not this year then next. Xx
