I’m sure it will be no surprise that I have a lot of makeup! So I’ve decided to do a project 10 pan introduction to show you the products I want to use up this year. My biggest focus is to work through my cream products, as they go bad much quicker than powder products. I am wearing makeup approximately once a week, so for some of the products I have chosen my goal is to hit pan rather than finish the whole thing up. If I do then finish them it’s a bonus. Want to see how I’m progressing with these products? Check out my Project 10 Pan Update 1!

I won’t be putting myself on a no-buy like some people do when they are working on a project pan, but I will be on a low buy. As I’m not working at the moment (apart from teaching a few clarinet & saxophone lessons), I don’t have much money coming in. I already have a lot of makeup so really feel that even if I don’t have a product, I have plenty of others that I could be using to create an equally nice look. The main things I will be allowing myself to purchase will be limited edition products & repurchases, for example if I run out of mascara. In addition to the products I have listed, I will be working on a few others, but have decided not to include them in this project as I have been working on them this year so may wish to switch them up for variety.
I have decided to update you with my progress every three months, so you can expect to see an update at the end of March, June, September & December.
Rimmel Cream Blusher in 001 Baby Kiss
I love this shade of blusher! It’s definitely a colour I could wear every day, with most looks. I was given it as a gift by my Mother-in-Law but have never seen this formula being sold. The packaging isn’t great for travel though, as the lid comes off easily. I would like to hit pan on this.

MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ocre
This shade is a great base for those with yellow toned skin. The MAC Paint Pots aren’t cheap. I also prefer the formula of the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, as they last better on my eyes, particularly in the summer. I reached for this a few weeks ago & noticed that the texture seemed harder than I remember. This seems to have improved since I started it again, but I want to use it up before it goes bad, particularly because of how much it cost! As Maybelline have launched their Creme De Rose (a dupe for MAC Painterly) & Creme De Nude (a dupe for MAC Soft Ocre) I can easily replace this (as well as try a pink toned version!) for a fraction of the price. My plan for this product is to hit pan, but I would be thrilled to use the whole thing up.
Lancome Colour Fever Lipstick in 216
I bought this lipstick in 2010 for my graduation. As it’s my second oldest lipstick (I thought it would be harder to use a red lipstick up with the frequency I’m using makeup) so I thought it was high time I used it up. The colour is very natural with a sheen. I thought it was sheerer than it actually is, which is the main reason why I haven’t been using it more. Unfortunately, this lipstick range has been discontinued. I don’t know why as they’re beautiful & so comfortable to wear! I plan to try it with different shades of lipliner to see if I can achieve different effects. I will probably be keeping the packaging once this is used up for sentimental reasons.

No.7 Lip Liner in 20 Nude
This was the first lipliner I purchased (a long time ago).It works nicely with the Lance lipstick to outline the lips & I’m hoping it also works well underneath the Lance lipstick. It is a very neutral shade that works with a lot of colours, so I’m hopeful that if it doesn’t work as well with the lipstick I can still use it up.
Victoria’s Secret Body Spray in Love Spell
I’ve had this spray since I was 14 (so 1/2 my life!). I bought it when I went to America with the school band & it has fantastic memories attached. I know you aren’t supposed to keep scents for too long as they can change & go off, but I didn’t want to use this one up because of the memories that are associated with it. Makeup is becoming more of a drain on my energy to apply, but I still want to feel nice, so thought using perfume/body spray daily would be a good way to do this as I usually forget! As Victoria Secret have opened in the UK & stock a repackaged version of this spray I’m happy to finish it off & repurchase, though again I may well keep the original packaging!

Dr. PawPaw Original Balm*
I have quite a few lip balms that I want to work through. I’ve chosen the Dr. PawPaw as the packaging has broken meaning air can get to the product, so I want to use it up before it goes bad. The sample packaging is different to the full sized one, so I can’t imagine it will be a problem with my other Dr. PawPaw balms. I have a review on the Dr. PawPaw Original Balm if you want to know my thoughts on it.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Light
I have a lot of concealers, so really want to work through them. Last year I finished my Estee Lauder Concealer & this year I want to use up my Maybelline one. This concealer is very nice, but a tad dark for me. It works well when I’m just wearing my MAC MSF Natural in Light Plus on my face so seemed the perfect concealer to choose with me not wearing much makeup at the moment. I have a review of the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer if you want to know more about my thoughts on it.
Urban Decay Eyeliner Pencil in Zero
I’ve gotten much more into eyeliner this past year. It helps bring my eyes out from behind my glasses. I have quite a few of the Zero eyeliners from Urban Decay, as they seem to come with every palette, so I would like to use this one up so I can work through the stash of them I have!

Lotil Original Cream*
I was going to include the Neutrogena Hand Cream in my project, as I’m quite lax when it comes to hand cream. I really don’t give my hands enough love so to combat this, I wanted to include a hand cream to encourage myself to take better care of my hands. I received the Lotil Original Cream in the post a couple of weeks ago so decided that instead of trying to use both creams & set myself an impossible task, I would test out the Lotil cream for a review & then work on using it up. I haven’t decided whether to use this solely on my hands or on other parts of my body as well, because the packaging only says it’s for dry skin & doesn’t state a body part. I’m going to do a little research & see it if will be suitable for my face too & will let you know in my review.

Laura Mercier Full Blown Supreme Mascara
I have a sample of the Laura Mercier Full Blown Supreme mascara, but it really did nothing for my eyelashes. No curl, no volume & no length. My eyelashes are long but straight so I really need something that holds a curl. I will be using this mascara up for my bottom lashes to get some use from it & (hopefully) make the mascara I’m using on my top lashes last a little longer.
Have you done a project pan before? Have you tried any of these products? If you have, what did you think of them?

I love project pan posts and videos! You’ve inspired me to use up some of my makeup that wasn’t getting enough love before :) xx
Thanks Charlotte! I’d love to know what you want to use up. Xx

it’s something i’ve never heard of but definitely something i could stand to do even though i don’t wear much makeup. i need to work through some of my older eye shadows and lip colors so i don’t feel so guilty about picking new ones up since i have a little more reason to want to use it these days for looking nice and covering up how fatigued i am most days.
I think project panning is a lot more prevalent in the YouTube community & as I’ve had to stop making videos, at least for a while, decided to carry it on with my blog. It’s a great way to make the most of products & use them up before they go bad. There’s a pan that palette project where you pick an eyeshadow palette & work through it over the space of a year. I’d love to take part in that in a few years time when I’m wearing makeup on a more regular basis. Xx

I’ve heard so many great comments about the Maybelline instant age rewind, this is definately 1 item I want to purchase and try very soon. The Victoria secret spray sounds lovely. Great post

I love it as a concealer, I just wish the shade range was better. I’d highly recommend it! Dan loves the smell of The Victoria Secret Love Spell spray, which is a huge bonus for me! Xx
