Project 10 Pan Update 1

You may remember that at the start of the year, I decided to pick 10 products to finish up or hit pan on this year. 3 months in & it’s time for my project 10 pan update 1! So if you want to see my progress & find out how I’ve found the products so far, this is the post for you! As I know it’s not going to be possible to use up all of the products in this project, but I’d still like to make a good dent in them, I’ve decided to add new products in for each one I finish.

Project 10 Pan Update 1

Rimmel Cream Blusher

Wow! I’m seriously impressed with my progress with this blusher. My goal for the year was to hit pan on it & I managed to do that within the first two months of this project! My goal now with this is to make progress on the left hand side. If I can use all of the left hand side I’ll be completely made up! Since I’ve already achieved my initial goal, I’m going to continue to use this blusher for the most part, but be flexible & allow myself to use other blushes to go with my lipsticks (more on that below). Where possible, I will be using other cream blushes so I’m still working through my creams before they go bad.

Project 10 Pan Update 1

MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ocre

My goal for this product is to hit pan. However, I’ve been working more on the sides to get rid of the dents I’ve made with my finger nails! I’ve been doing this because I’d like to bring you a review of the Soft Ocre Pain Pot & don’t like the idea of having photos of the product with big fingernail prints in it! So I’ve not really been working towards my goal per say, but I’m pleased with the amount of product I’ve used. I got quite annoyed with the shade of Soft Ocre & found it hard to work with at the start of the year. It’s quite a yellow shade & is actually darker than my skin tone. I found that when I used it all the way up to my brows my eyes looked darker than my face. I prefer for that area to look lighter. To combat this & still work through the pain pot, I have started using it all over the eye lid, into the crease & up to the bottom of my brow bone. This way I’m covering the majority of my eyelid veins & providing a base for my eyeshadow without making my eyes look darker & more yellow than the rest of my face. When I put this into my project pan, I had forgotten that it doesn’t wear very well on me during the summer. So that I’m still making progress with my cream products, I’ve decided to work on one of my Maybelline Colour Tattoos or the Urban Decay Primer Potion during the warmer months. I haven’t decided which one yet.

Project 10 Pan Update 1

Lancome Lipstick & No.7 Lip Liner

I’m pretty pleased with the progress on both of these, considering that I wear makeup twice a week max & often not at all! I’ve decided to retire them both from my project though. Since becoming a part time wheelchair user, mid March, I feel more confident in brighter shades. I just feel like they take some of the emphasis away from the fact that I’m in a wheelchair & help other people see me as a person, rather than a disability. I’ve pulled out a few spring/summer lipsticks & lip liners that I’ll be switching between. If I do fancy a nude lipstick though, I’ll be heading straight for these two to continue making progress on them & get them finished before they go bad.

Project 10 Pan Update 1

Because I have taken the Lance Lipstick & the No.7 Lip Liner out of my project, I’m going to replace them with the Tom Ford Brow Sculptor, which I have recently reviewed & the Maybelline Brow Drama Mascara, which I have compared to the Rimmel Brow Gel.

Victoria’s Secret Body Spray – Finished!

I love this scent & have been really impressed with the progress I’ve made. Wearing a scent day-to-day has really helped to lift my mood, so I’ll be continuing this. The next fragrance I’ll be adding in is The Body Shop Perfume Oil in Dewberry. I bought these when I first met Dan about 7 years ago, because they don’t contain alcohol (which Dan is allergic to). Unfortunately, they weren’t a great hit with him & he’s now able to manage traditional perfumes without an allergic reaction. As I’ve had them for so long, I’d like to work through them.

Project 10 Pan Update 1

Dr. PawPaw Original Balm* – Finished!

I’m surprised to have finished this lip balm up. Well, I say finished, but there’s actually still some product left which you can see in the picture below. Because of my EDS, I find squeezing tubes to get product out difficult & painful, especially once they reach the last little bit. So I’ve decided this is a finished as it’s going to get without me causing some serious damage to my hands. I really enjoyed using it & have a review of the Dr. PawPaw Original Balm up if you want to know my thoughts. I’m going to be including the Lipglam lip balm in it’s place. I got this lip balm from the Bloggers Hub BLFW & have a review of the Lipblam lip balm on it if you want to know more.

Project 10 Pan Update 1

Urban Decay Zero Eyeliner

I’m pretty pleased with the progress I’ve made on this eyeliner so far. I’ve worn it most of the times when I’ve worn makeup, switching it out for a gel or liquid option every so often. I don’t think I’m going to be able to finish this liner within the year, but I’m definitely going to give it my best shot!

Lotil Original Cream* – Finished!

I was really surprised to have finished the Loti Original Cream so quickly! Though actually, I did use it on my legs as well as my hands, so perhaps it’s not quite as much of a surprise! I have a review of the Lotil Original Cream if you want to know more. I’ve decided to put my Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Concentrated Hand Cream into my pan in it’s place. I’m not sure if I’ll manage to use this one up, but I’m going to give it my best shot!

Project 10 Pan Update 1

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

I’m happy with the progress I’ve made here so far, but a little disappointed that, unless my makeup wearing days increase, I won’t come close to finishing it. If you want to know my thoughts, check out my review of the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer!

Project 10 Pan Update 1

Laura Mercier Full Blown Supreme Mascara – Thrown Away

This mascara when bad. I took it out to use it one day in February & the smell was horrible. I didn’t find it a great mascara, which was why I was using it on my bottom lashes, so I’m not too disappointed that I didn’t manage to use it up. I’ve switched in the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara, which I have a review of to take the Laura Mercier’s place.

I’ve seen a few people on their YouTube channels working out & listing the monetary value of the products they’ve used up. I quite like this idea, so thought I’d give it a go. Let me know what you think!

1. The price of the Lotil Original Cream costs £1.85 for 30ml

2. The Dr PawPaw Balm costs £6.95 for 25ml. This works out at £2.78

3. I’m not going to include a price for the Laura Mercier Full Blown Supreme Mascara, as I had to throw it away rather than using up the product.

4. The Victoria Secret Body Spray in Love Spell costs £13.24 for 250ml. So my 236ml bottle is the equivalent to £12.50.

Total used so far, £17.13.

Are you trying to use up any products this year? What made you choose them & why do you want to finish them? How are you finding ‘project panning’?

    • It really is satisfying to hit pan & then finish products. I’m not convinced I’ll finish all of these, but I’m glad I’ve decided to almost do a rolling project 10 pan, so hopefully I’ll be able to finish 10 products in total & make some good progress on anything I’m unable to finish. Xx

  1. Great post! I love hitting pan (even though it means we’re near to spending more money on a new product)! I only just bough myself a Victoria Secret body spray last week and I’m going through it so fast! x

    • Thanks so much! I love hitting pan, but only because I have lots of other makeup products to use up without needing to repurchase (at least initially). I’d love to reduce my collection & use things up before they go bad. Ooo… Which body spray scent did you get? I’ll definitely be picking Love Spell up in the future, once I’ve used a couple more of my perfumes up. Xx

    • Thank you so much! I can’t wait to check your project pan out. I love the YouTube panning community – so great to encourage each other & share tips. I’m hoping to get back to filming, but not sure when I’ll be well enough to. Xx
