I wanted to share some outfit posts with you all, now that I’m feeling more comfortable with my weight,. Having lost a stone & a half of what I put on as a result of taking Gabapentin for my EDS & Basilar Type migraine, I’m feeling more confident in myself. I also have my new wheelchair, which has done all sorts of positive things for my self-image. I hoped to take these photos while I was at Center Parcs, but there weren’t any opportunities. So instead, you have my garden as a background. The three outfits I want to share with you from my holiday all have the same basic pieces in common, leggings & a long sleeved t-shirt. Today, I’m going to show you how I style these with a batwing jumper.

This was actually the outfit I wore on the last night of our holiday. Because of the bat wing sleeves on the jumper, I struggle to wear a coat over the jumper. So this is more appropriate for Autumn than the upcoming winter months. I wore this outfit to The Shearing, a restaurant in The Plaza, which is connected to the hotel. So I didn’t need to take a coat with me.

I’ve had this cream batwing jumper for a number of years. I definitely had it when I was at university, as I can remember getting one of the keys of my oboe stuck in it during an orchestra rehearsal. Cue conductor shouting at me for “wasting rehearsal time” when I dropped my oboe trying to untangle it from my batwing jumper & wanted to check that it was still working. He wasn’t my biggest fan & definitely didn’t understand my PTSD. I’m going off topic.

I got my cream batwing jumper from Primark, between 2008-2010. I’m pretty sure it would’ve cost less than than £20. It was actually my sister who picked it out for me. It was a time in my life when I was feeling very uncertain about pretty much everything (thanks PTSD!). My sense of style was one of the areas affected. I loved my sister’s sense of style, but didn’t have the confidence to try to tae inspiration from it. I was pretty much living in jeans & a hoodie.

I’ve paired my batwing jumper with a denim button down skirt. When standing, this skirt is just above my knees, but sitting it rides up a little higher. This is another Primark bargain that I picked up 1-2 years ago. It’s really comfortable to wear & has been a versatile piece as my weight has fluctuated.
Though you can’t see it, the black long sleeved t-shirt underneath the batwing jumper is from Primark. It has a bateaux neck line, with two small black buttons on the shoulder. The leggings are from Select. I really struggle to find leggings that suit my shape, but theirs have never let me down. They’re also 2 for £8, which is fantastic!
I only took one pair of boots as my footwear on holiday. The pair I chose were my tan calf length boots from New Look. I got these last year. They really do look great with so many outfits & the length keeps me a little warmer, which is handy as the cold intensifies my joint pain.
Keep an eye out for my post on this makeup look, coming soon.
What do you think of this outfit? How would you style a long-sleeved t-shirt & leggings?

Me too! I need to get some more. Quite a few don’t fit now! I didn’t used to like tan as a colour when I was a teenager, but now I can’t get enough of it! Xx
You look beautiful! I love your style and your batwing jumper is so pretty!
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend :)

It really is! It’s a shame that I can’t get my coat over the top of it, but at least I can be warm & cozy when I’m at home. Xx
Congrats on your weight loss, that’s so exciting! I looove that sweater and am on the hunt for my perfect turtle neck for this winter :)

Thanks! Though I don’t feel I deserve any congratulations, as I haven’t done anything. I’ve been much less active since stopping the medication that caused the weight loss, because of the increased pain & the impact this has had on my mobility. So it’s not that I’ve been doing well with workouts. Thankfully now that I’m not taking the tablets anymore, my craving food (particularly sugary foods) has stopped. I think that’s the reason for the weight loss.
It’s such a great jumper for the colder months, just a shame I can’t get my coat on over the top. Xx
Well done on your weight loss, lovely!! So proud of you! I know exactly what you mean. I have been waiting for a while to appear in front of the camera for an OOTD post. I am still not in my happy/perfect/comfortable shape but I will be!!
Love the way you styled this jumper!! You look gorgeous. I have the similar style one in electric blue colour which is not easy to style but then again, everything goes well with denim, right? ;) I am a massive fan of denim + tan boots <3

Thank you, but I really don’t deserve it! I’m just not craving sugar now that I’m not on the tablets any more. It’s really hard when you don’t feel comfortable in your own skin. I think sometimes it’s hard for other people to understand. If you ever want to talk, I’m always here.
You’re so right, everything goes with denim! I like the sound of electric blue, it must look amazing. Denim & tan boots are definitely a winning combination! Xx
You look lovely! I absolutely love your boots! Such a classy look! Luscious landscaping scenery to!
Aww!!! Thank you so much! Hubby has done a wonderful job with our garden. Xx
