I have a love/hate relationship with my hair. Growing up, it was thick, frizzy & had a kink in it. As I became a teenager, I wanted to make it look nice, but really struggled. When I started taking Sodium Valproate for my Basilar Type & Hemiplegic Migraine, the medication turned my hair curly. I loved it! But, as you may already know, I’ve had to come off my medication so hubby & I can try for a baby. So now I’m back to my thick, frizzy, kinky mess of hair that I struggle to manage. I love having long hair, but it makes it harder to style, so I had it cut into a lob. I love my mid-length hair, but I miss my long locks. That’s where the Irresistible Me Silky Touch Hair Extensions * come in!

All products marked with * have been gifted to me for consideration. More information can be found in my full disclaimer.
I’ve only ever owned one hair extension before. I got it for my wedding to thicken my hair out in an up do. It worked for what I wanted it for, but the ‘hair’ strands were coarse & it was tapered at the end in what I can only describe as a rat’s tail. Needless to say, I’ve not used it much.

I was excited for the Irresistible Me Silky Touch Hair Extensions to arrive, I’ve seen so many glowing reviews on other people’s blogs. When my hair extensions arrived, they weren’t what I was expecting. I was expecting one clip in piece. What I got was so much better!

The Irresistible Me Silky Touch Hair Extensions come in a pouch with two sections, one small & one large. This is so that you can open & try the small section before committing to the hair extensions you’ve purchased. If the 3 clipped wheft is the wrong colour or not the length you wanted, you can send your extensions back with the seal on the large section of the pouch in tact for an exchange or refund. This is fantastic when buying on the internet.

As I’ve said, I expected to get one complete hair extension to clip into my hair. The Irresistible Me Silky Touch Hair Extensions actually come in a number of different pieces. I got 1 x 4 clip weft, 2 x 3 clip wefts, 5 x 2 clip wefts & 2 x 1 clip wefts. Initially, this puzzled me. I wasn’t sure how to go about applying more than one clip in extension. Where do I put them all?

I started off with the 4 clip in weft in the middle back of my hair. I then added a 2 clip weft either side. You can see from the photo bethat with my short hair, just one layer of extensions looks rather silly. At this point, I was really thankful for the Irresistible Me Silky Touch Hair Extensions being in separate pieces rather than just one.

To reduce the obvious length difference between my hair length & the extensions, I added two more layers of extensions. This not only blended my hair length into the extensions much better, it also added additional thickness to my hair!
Choosing the right length & shade of the Irresistible Me Silky Touch Hair Extensions was easy! The shades on the website are true to colour. I picked Silky Medium Brown, but was then was sent a link to a YouTube video with the shades on, but this confused me. I had to get Dan to help me choose the colour, as if I’d have gone by the YouTube video I would have probably picked Silky Chocolate Brown. You can see how well the extensions match my natural hair colour in the windswept photo below. It’s worth being aware that the ends of my hair are a little dark after I overdyed my hair! I’m working on growing this out. Once I’ve done that, the extensions will be a 100% match.

Choosing the length was easy once I’d been sent a link to an Irresistible Me Pinterest Pin. Before this, I had no clue what the right length would be, but this pin made choosing easy! I went for the 18 inch extensions.
In addition to colour & length, you also get to choose the weight of your hair extensions. This equates to how thick your hair will be with the extensions in. The heavier the extensions, the thicker the end result. I went for the 200g extensions, which is the heaviest option for the length I chose. It’s worth bearing in mind that 14 inch 200g extensions will look thicker than 24 inch 200gs. You have to consider the balance between length & thickness.

As I’ve said, my previous extensions felt course. The Irresistible Me Silky Touch Hair Extensions are made from 100% human hair. As a result, they feel almost like my own hair! The extensions are also really comfortable to wear, which is just what you want. You can clip them in for a special occasion or event & then go enjoy yourself without feeling like your hair is being pulled out!

One thing that I have struggled with though, is the website. In order to browse the website, you have to register. So I can’t actually tell you how much the 18 inch, 200g Irresistible Me Silky Touch Hair Extensions cost. If I were looking to buy hair extensions, this would put me off & I would look elsewhere, which is a shame as the extensions are fantastic! You can find the full range of hair extensions at irresistibleme.com.

These look nice, I haven’t ever used hair extensions, my hair is thin so I do often think they would be good for me but I’ve never used them, maybe when I get married I might to add some volume/thickness. I think you suit both lengths, you can wear both, I look terrible with shorter hair!! xxx

They’re fab for adding thickness & so soft that they look & feel like your hair. Definitely worth looking into for a special occasion like a wedding. I wish I’d had these for my wedding. Xx
You look so pretty in these photos Tania and I love your hair both ways. Oh and don’t ever complain about thick hair – I long for it! You won’t ever go bald!! lol xx
Thank you so much Leah! I didn’t mean for the comment about the thickness to sound like a complaint, my sister has thin hair & I wouldn’t trade! I feel very lucky that, while I’ve been loosing a significant amount of hair since the age of 11, what I have is so thick & there’s so much of it that I can afford to loose more than normal & no one would know! Xx
I feel your sister’s pain – it’s horrid having thin hair! I will be bald by 50 I’m sure! lol xx
I hope that’s not the case for you! <3
Damn my awkwardly coloured hair, I’m inbetween the ash blonde and the brown. My hair naturally seems to be made up of about three different shades and it ends up being a caramel colour. It always feels that only people who match the box dyes can have these things. :-(
They look great on you though, can barely even see the over-dyed ends!
Oh no, that’s such a shame! I think it’s more a case of I am a box dye rather than matching one – damn my Dad’s grey hair gene! Haha Someone needs to look into a bespoke option so that those who don’t fit with the standard hair colours, or have a number of different tones in their hair would also have the option of wearing extensions. It would probably be a more expensive option, but at least it would be an option & the more people used it, the cheaper it would get. Xx
Your hair looks gorgeous.. so natural! You have such a lovely and inspiring blog here, keep up your amazing work it is paying off! x
