Conveniently, a month has passed since my first product empties post & I’ve finished enough products to bring you the next instalment! So if you want to know what products are in my recent product empties 2 & whether I would repurchase them, keep reading!

Simply Pure Light Moisturiser for Sensitive Skin £2.69

I came across Superdrug’s Simply Pure range when Ting from The Ting Thing introduced me to their serum. I absolutely loved it & the price point is amazing, so when I needed to buy a new moisturiser, I decided to give this one a try! It’s not been quite as moisturising as my La Roche Posay moisturiser, which you can read more about in my Skincare Staples post, but I haven’t had any eczema flare up while using it. This has made it’s way into my daily routine & I will be continuing to purchase it for the foreseeable future. Keep your eyes peeled, as I plan to do an overview post on the Simply Pure range.

Laura Mercier Body & Bath Verbena Infusion Gel Body Moisture (sample)

I got this as a gift with purchase more than a year ago & have put off using it until now because I was unsure what a gel moisturiser would be like. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised! I loved that this moisturiser had a cooling effect when applied. The scent was a little odd & I hated it on the first few applications, but after that I got used to it. I don’t think I can really say I like it, but I definitely don’t dislike it anymore. I found the gel moisturiser kept my dry, eczema prone skin comfortable. I would only purchase this in full size as a treat if I could get it in the January sales, & even then it would have to be very well discounted, as I really don’t like to spend a lot on body care when what I already have available from the high street suits my needs perfectly. I would recommend trying it in store if you’re looking for a luxury body product or a gift for someone.

Nivea Powder Touch Anti-Perspirant

I usually find that this deodorant doesn’t cut it for me. I tend to experience wet patches under my arms during the day & become paranoid that I smell! This time around though, I didn’t experience this. I’m definitely considering this reaction to be down to my PoTS, as the weather isn’t any colder than the last time I used this scent from the Nivea Anti-Perspirant range. I won’t be buying the stick form of deodorant for a while though. I used to use a roller ball when I was a teenager & found them annoying because I would have to wait for my underarms to dry before being able to put clothes on. I noticed that the roller ball style are about half the price of the cream sticks when I went to repurchase. As I’m at home ALL THE TIME it really doesn’t matter if I have to walk around in just my bra for a bit! Even on the rare occasions I will be going out, I figured by the time I’ve done my makeup my deodorant would be dry enough for me to put clothes on. So I’ve decided, at least for the time being, that I would convert to a roller ball. If & when I go back to work/have to do the school run, this will probably change, but for the moment a roller ball fits in with my lifestyle fine & saves me some pennies!

La Roche Posay Physiological Cleansing Gel £12(ish)

I bought this cleanser to use with the No.7 Cleansing bush. Unfortunately, I didn’t really get on with the brush & was left to use this up. I got on with it well, just not quite as well as the cream cleanser from the range, which you can find in my Skincare Staples post. I really think cream cleansers work much better for my dry, eczema prone skin, so I won’t be buying this or any other gel cleanser in the future. I can’t find it on the internet to link to, but this has been the best gel cleanser I’ve ever tried so if gel cleansers are your thing & you can get hold of it, I would highly recommend giving it a try!

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara (sample)

It’s safe to say that I love this mascara! I’ve written a full review of it, so check that out if you want to know more. Needless to say I will definitely be repurchasing it in the future when I have a more stable income.

NARS Gentle Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover & NARS Makeup Removing Water (samples)

These worked well. I found the Eye Makeup Remover took my makeup off with less effort, while the Makeup Removing Water felt a lot like using Micellar. I guess a good way of looking at the would be that the Eye Makeup Remover is stronger than the Makeup Removing Water. Because of their high price though, I won’t be repurchasing as I find that the L’Oreal Gentle Eye Makeup Remover works just as well for a fraction of the price. It was nice to have two small sizes to take to my parents, but unfortunately the two of them didn’t last a full week of daily use.

Chen Soft Make-Up Pads

These are the Lidl own brand makeup pads & I’ve been really impressed! They have two different textured sides which was the thing I loved most about the Boots Dual Faced Cotton Pads & they work just as well! For the 29p or so that they cost (they’re actually 59p, sorry – dyslexic error!), I will definitely be picking these up over other more expensive brands as they do the job just as well. I have used them to remove my cream cleanser, applying toner to my face & removing nail polish & they haven’t failed me!
