2015 Lifestyle Favourites

With the end of the year fast approaching, I wanted to share with you my 2015 lifestyle favourites! I have a separate post with my makeup favourites if you want to know which products have changed my makeup game this year.

2015 General Favourites

Center Parcs

Dan & I went to Center Parcs In March before I started coming off my medication so we can try for a family. & had a fantastic time! You can read about it all in my Day 1Day 2Day 3 & Day 4 posts. We had an absolutely amazing time & it was just what we needed to prepare for what has been a difficult process at times. I can’t wait to go back with a little one in tow!

Nikon D5300 with 18-55 Kit Lens £349

Just before our Center Parcs holiday, I bought my Nikon D5300. I spent 6 months researching DSLR cameras & deciding which were the most important features for me. I’m really pleased with my choice & have loved being able to improve my blog photography, as well as getting some outfit photos without the need for someone else to help me thanks to my tripod! I’ve written about Things To Consider when buying a DSLR & Choosing DSLR Accessories & have some more camera related posts to come in the new year. I really want to learn more about photography & continue to improve. my images. So this will be something I focus on in 2016.

Ossenburg Crutches £62.25

I got my crutches in October & they have given me my independence back! I’m not able to go far with them & the distance I can go is reducing, but I’m incredibly thankful that they have improved my mobility, reduced my pain & allowed me to sleep better at night. You can read more about how I came to the decision that I needed crutches in my Deciding To Use Crutches For Chronic Illness post.

2015 Lifestyle Favourites

My Blog

My blog has kept me going through what has been a trying year. I have made so many amazing friends this year through blogging & shared some fantastic memories! There are way too many people to name individually, but you all know who you are. I have also had the pleasure of working with some great brands & attending some wonderful events. I am truly so lucky.

Moving From Blogger To Self Hosted WordPress

This was a decision I made after my first year of blogging & I’m so glad I did! Despite the problems I have faced with hosting, which you can read about in my Why Was I Suspended By 123-Reg? post, I have loved being on WordPress. I find it an easier platform to use, with a lot of handy tools to choose from in the Plugin section. Literally, if you want to do something to your blog there is a Plugin to help you! This removes the need for a complex understanding of coding & makes life a lit easier! I have also loved being self hosted with my own domain name. I have more control & am still excited to have a .com address rather than .blogspot.co.uk! I was planning to write a post on making the move from Blogger to self-hosted WordPress, but my computer crashed & lost all the research I had done, so I’m going to have to start again which will mean the post won’t be up for a while!

  1. I really enjoyed reading this, I’ll be reading your post about choosing the right camera, I bet that was awesome when you got that. I am also thinking about moving across from blogger but I already have my own domain, did you lose all your comments or posts when you transferred across?

    • Thanks Kirsty! I was over the moon when I got my camera & am still in love with it now (though I am hoping to get one of the Sony Alpha range for my next birthday as the weight is a little much when I’m out & about). I can highly recommend moving from Blogger to WordPress, I find it an easier platform for things like SEO. I was able to transfer all my blog comments & posts over, though I moved to a different address at the same time. I’m sure there is a way to do it with the same address though. If I find any literature I’ll send it your way. Xx
