2017 Project Pan Introduction

I feel like my 2016 Project 10 pan was a success. I’m on a bit of a mission at the moment to use things up, throw them out if they’re beyond use and generally tidy. This is going to take me a long time, because of my chronic illnesses. I figure that if I do little bits at a time when I’m able to, I’ll get there eventually. If I’m honest, it’s refreshing to be in this mind frame and I’d like to make the most of it. With this in mind, I’d like to share with you 10 products I want to use up in my 2017 project pan.

2017 Project Pan

2017 Project Pan Item 1: Anatomicals lip balm

I’ve had this lip balm for a number of years now. A couple of years ago, Freya (one of my cats) got her paws on it. She started playing with it on the floor and it suddenly disappeared. Earlier this year, I found it underneath the TV unit. As it’s old, I want to use it up before it goes bad. When Freya lost it for me, I looked for a replacement as it’s an amazing lip balm. But I wasn’t able to find another anywhere.

2017 Project Pan Item 2: Nars Tinted Moisturiser

I absolutely love this tinted moisturiser. If you want to know just how much, check out my Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser review. I’ve had this a few years now and am sure that the SPF is past it’s best. There isn’t much left, so I’d like to finish it up. I want to reduce the number of face products that I own. Once I’ve finished another product up from my face draw, I’ll pick up another Nars tinted moisturiser.

2017 Project Pan Item 3: B. Setting Powder

There may not look like much left in this compact, but don’t be fooled. It takes such a long time for me to make progress on it. I’ve pulled this powder out as I think it will be a good setting powder for my Nars Tinted Moisturiser.

2017 Project Pan Item 4: Dior Addict Lipstick

I have an absurd number of lipsticks. It’s got to the point where it’s embarrassing. A few years ago, I decided that I would have a two out one in rule, where I would only buy another lipstick after I’d finished up two others. This sounded like a great idea, but being sent products to try meant that I added lipsticks to my collection before having the chance to use two of my existing ones up. So I gave up on my two out one in idea. I still really want to use up some of my lipsticks (and lip glosses!) so adding one or two to my project pan seems the best way to do this.

I’ve had this Dior lipstick for over 6 years now. It was a lipstick I bought as an option for my wedding. It’s a great neutral shade that is no longer available and because I’d had it for quite a while, I’d like to use it up. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to use this over different lip liners to create a variety of lip shades. My aim for this lipstick is to use it up completely. I think I’ll be able to manage this if my lip liner idea works.

2017 Project Pan Item  5: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Zero

I currently have seven black eyeliner pencils. A lot of Urban Decay’s palettes came with a Zero eyeliner, so they’ve accumulated in my collection. I’ve sold some of them, but still have 7 black eyeliners left! I really want to use up some of my coloured eyeliners, but with the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold in this project, that just wasn’t going to happen. So I’m adding in a Zero eye pencil to try and work through my (seven!) black liners. I’m not sure how well I’ll do with this liner. It depends how much I’m drawn to my Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner, which I’ve fallen in love with. So I’m going to aim to use up half of this eyeliner in 2017. Anything extra will be a bonus.

2017 Project Pan Item 6: Soap & Glory Brow Archery

I have so many brow products! I honestly don’t know how I’ve accumulated so many. I’d like to get down to a more manageable amount, so putting a brow product into my project pan seemed an obvious choice. I love my Soap & Glory Brow Archery and will have a review for you soon.

2017 Project Pan

2017 Project Pan Item 7: MUA Clear Mascara

I use my MUA clear mascara to set my brows. It’s ok for this, but you can probably see it’s past it’s best. The gel is no longer clear and the lid is cracked. I’ve come across better brow gel options, so I’d like to move this out of my collection in favour of something that works a bit better. I’m going to use this mascara until I’ve finished my Soap & Glory Brow Archery and then call it done.

2017 Project Pan Item 8: Tommy Girl Perfume

I’ve had this perfume since I was 14. I’m pretty sure that’s way too long. It doesn’t smell it’s best any more, so I’m going to use it up this year.

2017 Project Pan Item 9: Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold

I love the formula of the Maybelline Colour Tattoos. They don’t budge on my eyelids, which a lot of other cream shadows do. I have quite a few Colour Tattoos and would like to reduce the number. I have another Pink Gold, from when I kept a small number of makeup items at my parents. So it makes sense to use the original one up. As you can see from the red markings, this was in my 2015 project pan. You can find out more about this project on my YouTube channel. I’ve marked my starting point for this project in blue and will continue with this colour for all 2017 progress. I’d like to use half of this Colour Tattoo up in 2017.

2017 Project Pan

2017 Project Pan Item 10: Nars Cream blusher in Penny Lane

My goal is to hit pan on this blusher. I really want to reduce the number of cream blushes in my collection as they go bad so much quicker than powder products. This is a gorgeous shade that goes with absolutely everything! This is an ideal blusher to work on while I’m trying to use up my Pink Gold Colour Tattoo. Unfortunately, the Nars Cream blushes have been discontinued.

    • Thank you so much! The start of the year is a great time to switch up my products and focus on some new products. I know it will take me a while to use things up as I’m only using makeup approximately once a week. Xx

  1. The Nars Cream Blush looks a gorgeous colour. I’m currently in the middle of a declutter myself and definitely have to start being stricter with my make up – there is just too much!!

    • It really is a beautiful shade. It’s such a shame that it’s been discontinued. I was much stricter with what I bought in 2016 and am planning to continue that in 2017. Good luck with decluttering your collection. Xx

  2. I also have too many black liners and I would love to throw everything in the bin and buy new ones but I won’t, I will try and use them all up. I also have two VS mists I must finish this year and also a couple of creams almost half empty. Wish my luck! x

    • I was in shock when I realised just how many black pencil liners I have! It’s great that you’re going to try to use yours up. It’s going to take me a few years to get through all of mine, but I’m determined to do it. I love the Victoria Secret mists! I got Love Spell when I was in America on tour with my school band and the scent holds so many memories. I finished it up in my 2016 project pan before it went bad. Good luck on finishing your products up! Xx

    • That’s such a great goal! Hitting pan on products is so hard when you don’t want to neglect the rest of your makeup collection. I find powder products hardest, but they also last longer than creams, so I don’t mind having more of them an getting through them slower. Xx
