So I started my little Favourites series talking about my MAC Favourites, today I thought I would continue with a more affordable brand & share with you my my favourite Maybelline products! As with my MAC list, there won’t be any lipsticks included in this post as I’m allergic to one of the ingredients Maybelline use. The majority of their products are fine for me though, so I do have a good variety to choose from & these are my favourites! As with my MAC favourites, I’ve also included a little wish list to so you can see some of the products I’m yet to try but am excited about.
The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette £9.99
Another Maybelline product I’ve reviewed, The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette is a gorgeous combination of natural shadows. The quality is great, not quite as pigmented as my Urban Decay shadows, but beautiful for an everyday look & they blend nicely together. I’m planning on doing a ‘Pan That Palette’ challenge once life returns to ‘normal’ & I’m wearing makeup more regularly. I’ve already decided that this will be the first palette I pan as it’s so versatile & perfect of day-to-day wear.
Colour Tattoos £4.99
These are one of only two bases I have found that don’t crease on me, the other being the GOSH Forever Eye Shadow. I love the range of shades Maybelline have in their Colour Tattoo line, I just wish we had the limited edition ranges those lucky people in the States have! I have 13 of these babies (2 of Pink Gold as I kept one at my parents for a while) & they really are lovely! The range of shades & finishes means there’s something to suit everyone. My favourites are On & On Bronze, Pink Gold (both of which I’ve hit pan on!), Permanent Taupe & Metallic Pomegranate. Pink Gold looks great as a lid colour with a purply taupe like Mudhoney from the Soap & Glory Lid Stuff quad in What’s Nude, while Metallic Pomegranate looks great in the crease with Pink Gold on the lid. Permanent Taupe is a great shade for my brows, while On & On Bronze is a great lid shade on it’s own or with other shadows.
Colour Elixir Lip Gloss £6.99
These lip glosses are highly pigmented & have a lovely, soft feel on the lips. I have quite a few of these & really do love them. Not only is the product gorgeous, but just look at that packaging! Such a clever & pretty design. I can see these being my go-to Mummy lip product because they are so easy & comfortable to wear. I like that they have natural, bright & deep shades in the range so there’s a colour for every occasion.
Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner £7.99
I’ve only used one other gel eyeliner, so I don’t have much to compare this one to, but I’ve been more than happy with it! It says in place all day without flaking or smudging, is easy to apply & so far hasn’t dried out, which was the problem I had with my e.l.f. gel eyeliner. I’ll probably stray to other gel eyeliners once I finish this one up, but not because there’s anything wrong with it, I just like trying different things! The only thing I would say is that this eyeliner doesn’t come out quite as black as I might like. So if I want to go for an intense black liner I’ll opt for my liquid liner. Other than that, I’ve no complaints!
Forever Strong Nail Polish £4.49
My nails are notorious for chipping really easily. It doesn’t matter whether I use a cheap nail polish or an expensive brand. One of the nail polishes that has surprised me with how well it lasts on me is the Forever Strong from Maybelline. The shade range is great & although I only own two at the moment, once I’ve worked through some of my current polishes, I’ll be replacing them with similar ones from this line!
Master Sculpt Contouring Palette £6.99
I’ve written a full review of the Master Sculpt Contouring palette, so I’m not going to go into too much detail about it here, but what I will say is that I was put off drugstore contour palettes by the Sleek Contour Palette as the shade just didn’t suit me. The Master Sculpt is only the second drugstore contour product I’ve tried & it’s a completely different story! I’m not sure whether this is because I went for the Medium/Dark shade, which suits me better as it has cool undertones. Having worked this out on the Master Sculpt I went back & swatched both shades of the Sleek palette & I do think the Medium would suit me better. Odd, as I’ve definitely got pale skin!
Instant Age Rewind Concealer £7.99
This has been thrown in as a bonus product, as I love the formula but wish there was a bigger shade selection. I have Light & it’s still too dark for me. I’m going to try to get hold of the Brightener from eBay or similar in the hope that this will be a better shade for me. Because of the shade not being ideal for me, I’ve thrown this into my project pan & am going to try to make as much progress as I can on it this year to finish it up. Love their colour tattoos, their Age Rewind concealer and Better Skin foundation. Their mascaras are kind of brilliant too, I haven’t tried their Master Sculpt so I will look out for that and swatch it in store. I so badly want to try their Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation but I can’t find it in the UK anywhere! Great post x

I haven’t tried any Maybelline foundations, but I’ll be checking them out once I’ve used a few of my current ones. I just wish the Age Rewind concealer had more shades available. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to get the brightener online. Xx

I absolutely adore the Maybelline Colour Tattoos. For a while On and On Bronze was my ultimate favourite for use as both a base and as a quick effortless eye look. Nowadays I’m definitely swaying more towards Pink Gold. It’s just a wonderful shade that really brings out my eye colour. I’ve yet to try the Nudes Eyeshadow Palette but I’ve been hearing great things about it so I may pick one up next time I’m in Boots or Superdrug. Raspberrykiss xo
There seems to be so much love for the Colour Tattoos! On & On Bronze is such an easy shade to wear isn’t it? Pink Gold is really pretty too. Absolutely loved this post Tania, I love reading brand round up posts like this :) Im a big fan of Maybelline too and think they have some great products at such reasonable prices. I highly recommend the Lash sensational mascara, it’s my favourite mascara ever! I love the colour tattoos too and really want to try that gel liner and contour palette now after reading this; it’s interesting what you said about the darker shade being a better fit for pale skin I would never have thought of it like that!

Fab post! I’ve been meaning to do something similar myself actually. I love the Color Tatoos, the gel liner and the nail polishes. The Brow Satin is awesome, you should definitely try it, although I only use the twist-up pencil end. You’re making me want to write this post now haha!

They’re eye kits are great too. I recently bought a couple of Kiko eye-shadow sticks and they’re lovely too. I have a slight obsession with eye-shadow. Lol. Oh and the Sensational mascara is a mega dupe for Roller lash. :)

The Benefit Eye Kits? I have two of those, mostly to try some of the Creaseless Cream Shadows. I looked into the Kiko eyeshadow sticks, but unfortunately that have citric acid in which I’m allergic to so they aren’t an option for me. Xx
That’s a shame. Though if you’re looking for bargains, Poundland have loads. I’ve bought Rimmel and Bourjois from there recently. Great for trying things out.
I’ve tried both the Rimmel & Bourjois eye shadow pencils & both crease on me unfortunately. It’s very frustrating! Xx
I’m a big fan of Maybelline products, mainly because of the Colour Tattoos. I pick up every new shade when I see them. I’ve also wanted to try the Blushed Nudes palette even though I know pinks don’t generally look good on me which is why I gave my Naked3 again… sigh. I never learn. I like the sculpting palette too, but I prefer the Seventeen one. I really liked the highlighter in the palette and sort of wish they did it separately.

I do that too! I’ve had to stop myself & am trying to use up 2 cream shadows before picking up any more. I just don’t want them to go bad before I can use them up! The Colour Tattoos have to be, without a doubt, my number 1 product from Maybelline. I’ve picked up the Seventeen contour palette, but haven’t tried it yet, I’ll have to pull it out & give it some love. Xx
I do not like the Maybelline palettes at all. I got the Smokes palette and it was very chalky and not pigmented. I really want to try the Age rewind concealer because I have some serious dark circles. I like the Creamy Matte Lipsticks, Master Glaze blush (not sure if they still sell it), and the Baby Lips in “Cherry Me” because of the sweet cherry scent. Great post! I have been wanting to do a “L’Oreal Favorites” post.

Oh no! That’s such a disappointment. I’ve heard a few people say they haven’t been impressed with the Smokes palette but it hasn’t launched in the UK yet so I haven’t had a chance to swatch it myself. I can’t use the lipsticks or the Baby Lips because of allergies, which I find hugely frustrating as the colour selection looks amazing! I only have a few L’Oreal products so would love to read your post once you’ve written it! Xx
I absolutely love the Colour Tattoos – one of my favourite cream eyeshadow formulas! I love the Eraser Eye/Age Rewind concealer and although I only have two of the nail polishes too, I was really impressed with them :) xx

Of the few brands I’ve tried the Maybelline Colour Tattoos come top of the cream eyeshadows for me, I don’t know how they manage to make them so effective! I just wish the Age Rewind concealer had more shades available, but we can’t have everything! Xx
