July Bullet Journal Setup: One Month In

I’ve been using my bullet journal for a month now. So, I thought I’d share a little update to show you what worked & what didn’t with my initial setup. For the most part I’ve been happy with my layout, probably because I spent a while planning it out. Today I’m going to share with you my July bullet journal setup, as a one month in point. If you want to see my initial setup, you can check it out in my Bullet Journal Setup post.

My monthly view double page works well. I like that it’s set out into morning, afternoon & evening so it’s easy to see. The one section on this double page that didn’t get used is my social media tracker. So I’ve taken it out of my July bullet journal spread & made my ‘To-Do’ section bigger.

The weekly tracker has been great. I enjoy writing down the weather the day before, it helps me plan my outfits & activities. I’ve also found having a water tracker really useful in helping me drink more with my stomach difficulties. Having somewhere to put my 3 positives is fantastic, though I do sometimes feel I don’t have enough room to include what I want in the space I have. I’m going to keep things this way for now, but I may make a separate section in my weekly spread for my 3 positives.

I love my habit tracker & having it with my weekly spread is definitely the best place for me. I think I’ve been a little unrealistic in the things I’ve been trying to include though. There’s no way I can cycle, even for 5 minutes a day. Holding my oboe also isn’t feasible at the moment either. I’ve replaced these with snapchat, something I need to do more of & SEO for my July bullet journal setup. The SEO task is for me to go back & sort the SEO of old blog posts. I transferred over from Blogger to my WordPress site so all the old posts need work on them. I’m getting there with these & doing a post a day to work through the back log is definitely the way forward.

My blog stats & social media tracker are all fine. I knew they would be as it’s a system I’ve used previously. I’d not thought to include a way to track my DA & PA though, so I’ve added a table on my blogging goals page. I still need to add a title to this, but I’m happy to the useful part in place for now.

I’ve found my appointments spreads one of the most useful in my bullet journal. I think I’ll be writing a separate post on these.

  2. I always enjoy taking a look inside your bullet journal. Having all the stats & goals written down helps immensely! Well done, Tania <3 Love the weekely tracker and 3 positives. I have a litttle gratitude journal so writing down all the positive things and everything I have been thankful for (including lovely meals or a Skype chat with parents) is amazing. Really makes you appreciate life so much more!

    • Thanks Nadia! I completely agree with you about having stats written down. I find it so much easier to work towards my goals that way. I love having the 3 positives, but I’ve been finding I’ve not been adding them recently. I think at least a little part of that is the space issue, so I’m going to be having a think about how I can rectify that for next month’s weekly spreads. Writing down positive things is really fantastic, I’m surprised more people don’t do it. It’s a technique I was introduced to by my PTSD counsellor & I found it made a difference. XX

  3. I learned about bullet journals through Buzzfeed. They look intriguing and I would love to try them, but at the same time they seem very intimidating. Yours looks so creative and organized though!

    • I’ve not used mine as a busy person yet, but I can imagine it being harder to keep up with. I used to only use my diary for appointments when I was busier & I don’t know how well I’d do if I were trying to keep a track of everything. Xx

  4. Love your bullet journal I keep changing my mind whether to get one as know I will keep forgetting to do it

    • Thanks you so much! I’m really pleased with it. Do you have a notebook you’re not using? Worth trying to bullet journal in that to see how you get on with it, before spending money on a typical journal. Xx
