Project 10 Pan Update 3

Like every beauty blogger, I love makeup! I have quite a sizeable collection & really want to get the most out of what I’ve bought. I came across the Project Panning community on YouTube a few years ago & it struck a chord with me. The women in this community are actively using up their makeup to keep their collections a manageable size. I’ve done project pan videos on my YouTube channel. As I’ve been too poorly to film this year, I thought I’d write some posts for you instead. If you want to know how I’m getting on 3 months in, keep reading my Project 10 Pan Update 3!

Rimmel Cream Blusher – Goal achieved

Despite the amount of visible pan looking smaller, I feel like I’ve made good progress on this blusher. I’ve switched to using a brush rather than my fingers to apply this, so the progress has been from the sides of the blusher rather than the pan. I hit pan on this (my goal) by my first update, so now I’m just trying to see how much more I can use up before the end of the year.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Eternal Gold – Goal achieved

My goal for this product was to hit pan & I’m very pleased that I’ve managed to do this! I have quite a few cream eyeshadows & bases. So my aim  with these is to use two up before I buy one more. This way, I’m hoping to work through the cream shadows/bases that I have before they go bad, without stopping myself from buying more.

As a colour, Eternal Gold is ok, but it’s not one that I’ll be rushing back to pick up again. At the moment, I have the new shade, Fantasy in mind for when I finish Eternal Gold (& one other). It’s more of a champagne shade but has gold flecks in it, which I think will suit me better than Eternal Gold does. As we’re going into the colder months, I’m going to swap Eternal Gold for MAC’s Soft Ochre, as this is one that I can only wear in the Autumn & Winter as it creases on me in warm weather.

Benefit Stay Don’t Stray – Thrown away

Unfortunately, I had to throw this away. The liquid began to separate, so I couldn’t carry on with it. I’ve very glad I put it in my project pan to get a little more use before it became unusable. This is definitely a product I would buy again in the future. It’s great on the eye lids, but even better under the eyes to give a little coverage & to help keep concealer in place.

Even though I have had to throw this away, I don’t feel I need to add an extra product into my project pan, as I ended up with 11 products instead of 10 at the end of June.

GOSH Velvet Eyeliner in White

I feel like I’ve made some good progress with this eyeliner. I don’t think I have much left in terms of how many more times this can be sharpened, so fingers crossed I will be able to finish this eyeliner by the end of the year. This is great for the inner corner of my eye. Unfortunately, GOSH don’t make this shade in the Velvet Touch line any more (I bought this when I was about 14), but I’ll definitely be buying other shades from the line in future.

Urban Decay Eyeliner in Corrupt

I’m pretty pleased with how I’ve done with this eyeliner, particularly as I’ve been using the Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner as my main eyeliner. I’ve fallen in love with it & how easy it is to use, so the Urban Decay Eyeliner in Corrupt hasn’t really been used much. I’m determined to change this though. I know I won’t be able to finish this eyeliner by the end of the year, but I’d like to get half way down it.

Rimmel Sun Bronzer in Light Matte

I feel like I’ve made ok progress on this product, as I can definitely see more pronounced pan marks. I don’t think I’m going to manage to finish this up though. Autumn & Winter are not the times I gravitate towards bronzer, but I’m going to give it my best shot. This product gives such a natural go that I think I could get away with it in the colder months as a bronzer & am going to give it a try as a contour too. If you want to know more about this bronzer, you can check out my Rimmel Sun Bronzer review post.

Project 10 Pan Update 3

The Body Shop Perfume Oil in Dewberry

My goal for this perfume is to finish half, which I think will be achievable by the end of the year. I’ve not done very well at remembering to wear it every day, but I still feel like I’ve made good progress. This is a nice scent, light & easy to wear day-to-day (when I remember to put it on). Unfortunately, my previous markings have been rubbed off, but I think the comparison picture gives a good idea of how much I’ve used.

#Lipglam lip balm

I haven’t made as much progress as I would like with this lip balm. This is mostly because I don’t find my lips are particularly dry during the warmer months. I know I’ll get a lot more use out of this lip balm as we go into Autumn & Winter. I don’t expect to finish this, particularly as I haven’t been panning it for the whole year, as I started with the Dr. PawPaw lip balm. It’s also worth remembering that there is additional width the closer you get to the top of the lip balm, so I may be using the same amount, but it will look less when comparing the markings. You can find out more about this lip balm in my #Lipglam review post.

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Concentrated Hand Cream

At my last update, I had hardly used this hand cream. I have to admit, that I haven’t done much better in three past three months. I have made a little dent in it, but barely any. For some reason, I really struggle to use hand cream, but I don’t know why. What I do know is that if there’s ever a time that I will use hand cream, it will be the Autumn & Winter, so I’m going to really work hard to make a little more progress on this & give my hands the TLC that they deserve!

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

I’m not really sure how I’ve done with this concealer, as there is no way to see my progress. I will say that this is the only concealer I have used since I switched it with my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind at my last update. However, I haven’t worn makeup all that much. So I don’t know whether my progress will have been significant. Either way, I’m glad I’m making use of this concealer when I’m feeling up to wearing makeup before it goes bad, as the formula has become thicker. If you want to know my thoughts on this concealer, you can check out my Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer Review.

Project 10 Pan Update 3

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

Another product that I don’t really know how my progress is going. I’ll be throwing this mascara out at the end of the year for sanitary reasons & am using on my bottom lashes every time I put makeup on. For more on this mascara, check out my Urban Decay Perversion Mascara review.

Urban Decay Mini Lipgloss in Naked

I feel like I’ve made some good progress with this lip gloss & am convinced that I’ll be able to finish it by the end of the year. I got quite a bit of use from this gloss in the summer when it was really hot, as the minty feeling cooled my lips, which was ideal to help me feel that little bit cooler when the heat was affecting my PoTS. The only problem with this lip gloss now, is that I can only use it from home because it needs to stay upright. If I put it in my bag, the gloss ends up down the end or along the sides & I can’t get it out. This may hinder my progress.

  1. I think the only products I use up regularly and buy new ones are my MAC studio fix foundation and L’oreal mascara. Everything else I don’t get a chance as I keep buying more. I think I have enough highlighters to last me a lifetime!

You’ve done so well using these bits up! x

    • Mascara is one of the few things I regularly use up, but I tend to switch up which ones I repurchase. My MAC MSF Natural is another product I’ve used quite a few of. I find it hard to stick to using the same products regularly, so unless I do a project pan, I’ve no hope of finishing anything! I really want to make a dent in the number of lip products I own, I have so many & I don’t want them to go bad before I finish them up. Xx

  2. Well done on using them up. I have the urban decay decay perversion mascara but I’m not sure how I feel about it really. Don’t think i’ll purchase again so going to read up on your review of it now.

    • Thank you so much! I like the Urban Decay Perversion mascara on my bottom lashes, but I can’t get on with it for my top lashes. I won’t be buying a full size. Xx

  3. It’s nice to know that there are other women out there who really try to use up their products! I think it’s such a waste to buy make up only to throw them out after only a couple of use bec you have tons of other. You’re an inspiration!

    • Thank you so much! I hate to think of the waste. I know sometimes this can’t be helped, but I’d like to reduce waste & get my money’s worth as much as possible. Xx

  4. As you say being a blogger it can be a struggle to use up products but I do try and focus on particular items on occasion to use up my stash. Now I’m going to be spending a bit more time on home I’m hoping I can be a bit more considered with what I use and make a bit more headway into my stash as I have so much it can be overwhelming at times.
