We’re now officially in spring, though I think the weather missed the memo. To celebrate, I thought I’d share with you a smart spring outfit, that I wore on holiday when we went out for dinner. So technically I was a little premature with this outfit, seeing as I wore it in winter. But the weather felt spring-like, so it felt completely appropriate.
The key piece in my smart spring outfit is this lovely blouse from H&M. My Mother-in-Law took me shopping before we left for holiday and treated me to it. I love the colour and I think the flower pattern is really pretty. The cut is particularly flattering when sitting down, the material flows nicely without showing lumps and bumps. This makes it an ideal blouse for going out to dinner, working in an office or using a wheelchair, as it doesn’t highlight the stomach. The details on to blouse, the high, ruched neckline, the thick cuffs and the cut out on the back, add an additional feminine feel. I love this blouse and I know I’m going to get a lot of wear out of it in the spring and summer.
For my smart spring outfit, I also wore a black tube skirt from Dorothy Perkins. This was a Christmas present from my Parents-in-Law. Standing up, the skirt stops half way down my shin. It’s flattering, but longer than I would normally go for. This isn’t a problem, because actually I can’t walk in this skirt. The skirt is tight, and I find I can only waddle in a very awkward way when wearing it. This isn’t helpful for my joints, so this skirt has been deemed a ‘wheelchair only’ skirt. When I sit down, the length shortens considerably. I really like how it ends just below my knees and that the black of the skirt picks out the black outline of the flowers on the blouse.
I love how this blouse looks with Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina!
Incase I got cold, I added my black fitted jacket to my smart spring outfit. I wore this in my Blue Shift Dress outfit post, so I won’t bore you with the same details again. As this was a travelling outfit, the shoes and bag are also the same.
What do you think of the blouse? Do you have a go-to smart spring outfit?
I feel like this is going to be my go-to.
