2018 Project Pan Update 2

How are we already at the end of June!? And how is Elise already 3 months old!? Time really has flown by! I’ve now been working on the products in my my project pan for 6 months so it’s time for mu 2018 project pan update 2 post, to show you all how I’m getting on. If you’re interested to know  where I started and my progress after 3 months, check out my Introduction and update 1 posts.

Superdrug Emoji Lip Balm* – Started 5/5/18, hit pan 14/5/18

I’m really impressed with how much of this lip balm I’ve managed to use up. Unfortunately, I’ve misplaced it. So I can’t show you how much progress I’ve made.

2017 Project Pan Update 3, 2018 Project Pan Update 2

Starting point for my Superdrug Emoji Lip Balm – Hit pan on 14/5/18

When I first tried these, I found them to be quite thin and thought they’d only work for me during the summer months. While I still don’t feel that this range would be enough for my lips during the colder months, I’ve found this Emoji lip balm to be more moisturising than I’d remembered. If I knew where this was, I’d probably be able to finish it by the next update. As it is, I have absolutely no idea. Also, I’m going to start working on one of my other Emoji lip balms, which I’d like to hit pan on by my next update.

2018 Project Pan Update 2: Nivea Soft Hand Cream

Hand cream is something I’ve always struggled to use, but as a self-propelled wheelchair user, my finger tips become quite dry when steering with my hand rims. I haven’t used this as much as I could or probably should have. Frustratingly, there seems to be an air bubble stopping me from seeing where I’m up to. I’d really like to have this finished by my next update and am going to try and remember to use it more to make that happen. I’d like to have this finished by my next update.

2018 Project Pan Update 2: Urban Decay Eyeliner

I haven’t used this eyeliner at all, so no progress. I’ve been doing very little in terms of eye makeup since Elise has been here and that’s ok. I can’t see me getting much use out of it this year, so I’m going to take it out of my project. I’m probably going to substitute it with another product, but haven’t decided which yet.

2018 Project Pan Update 2: DHC mascara*

I’ve not used this often, but when I’ve worn makeup this is what’s been on my bottom lashes. There’s no way to see progress, so I’m going to continue to use it until it either dries up or we get to the end of the year. Which ever comes first.

2018 Project Pan Update 2: NARS Concealer

You’d think that with a newborn baby, concealer would be a priority for me on days where I’m wearing makeup. In fact, the complete opposite has been true! I’ve been putting some of my MAC MSF Natural powder under my eyes, and that’s been it! Quicker than blending out and setting concealer. As my dark glasses largely hide my eyes anyway, concealer seems like an unnecessary step at the moment. Particularly as I don’t have much time available to get ready!

As I haven’t been using my NARS Concealer, and can’t see this changing before the end of 2018, so I’m going to take it out of my project. I’m probably going to substitute it with another product, but haven’t decided which yet.

2018 Project Pan Update 2: MAC Paint Pot And Maybelline Colour Tattoo

When I finished off my Urban Decay Primer Potion, I’d planned to replace it with my MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot (check out my Soft Ochre Paint Pot review) and the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On And On Bronze. While these would’ve made great replacements, they just aren’t practical at the moment. My ‘Mummy makeup’ needs to be as quick and simple as possible. As my glasses are so dark at the moment, it seemed silly to me to spend time on eyeshadow that would barely be seen. So I’m going to put these to one side for now. If I do wear anything on my eyes, it’s the MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study. This is a shade that works well on it’s own and brightens my eyes, unlike Maybelline’s On And On Bronze, which just makes me look more tired at the moment! I’m not going to work on Bare Study in this project, as it’s an almost full pot and I’m not using it often.

2018 Project Pan Update 2: L’Oreal Skin Perfection

I really need to get better at remembering to use this! Last weekend was a hot one and we were going out so I wanted to wear a little makeup. I fund myself skipping a base product and just opting for mascara, brows, a little blusher and a lip product. I didn’t have the L’Oreal Skin Perfection with me (we’d travelled down to Essex to visit family), but I can see myself getting lost of use out of it over the summer in place of a base product. I’m going to try to have it finished by my next update.

2018 Project Pan Update 2: Barbara Daly Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown and the Soap & Glory Brow Archery

I’m very picky with brow products, particularly the colour of them. Lot seem to pull too warm for me. Because of this, I’ve experimented with a fair few products to find what suits me. I’m a big fan of the Soap & Glory Brow Archery, but not the Barbara Daly eyebrow pencil. So I’ve been using the Barbara Daly in the body of my brows and the Soap & Glory for the tails. It’s a combination that I’m actually really enjoying! This is one of the reasons I love project panning – you get creative to find different ways of working with products. I’m hoping to have both of these finished by the end of the year.

2018 Project Pan Update 2: Anatomicals Stop Cracking Up Lip Balm* – Started 1/3/18, finished 2/5/18

I seem to go through lip balms really quickly! This one only lasted me 2 months. When I reviewed it, I commented on a strange smell that I hadn’t experienced with a previous Stop Cracking Up Lip Balm. As Iv’e been using it, the smell has become less noticeable. I’m not sure whether the smell has faded, or I’ve become used to it. It’s a fantastic lip balm and really inexpensive too! I’ll definitely be buying another one, when I’ve used up some of my other lip balms. I’ll be reporting back on the scent situation when I do. You can find out my full thoughts on this lip balm in my Anatomicals lip balm review.

Because I’d finished my Stop Cracking Up Lip Balm, I decided to add the Papaya Gold PawPaw balm into my project.

2018 Project Pan Update 2: Papaya Gold PawPaw Balm – finished 4/6/18

I bought two of these, for each of my hospital bags when I was having Elise. If you’ve read my Dr PawPaw balm review you’ll know how well I got on with it. The Papaya Gold PawPaw balm was the same amount of money, and I had a Boots voucher to use. I was intrigued by the addition of honey in the Papaya Gold version, so thought I’d give it a try!

I’ve been using this on my heels and lips and have recently written my PapayaGold PawPaw Balm Review post. As I’ve finished this up, I’ve decided to add my Lansing HPA Lanolin nipple cream.

2018 Project Pan Update 2: Lansinoh HPA Lanolin – started 4/6/18

Surprisingly, I’ve almost finished my Lansinoh HPA Lanolin nipple cream! I didn’t use this much during my short time breastfeeding, but when I needed to, it was invaluable. Since starting my medication (and having to stop breastfeeding), I’ve been using this cream on my lips, stubborn eczema round my mouth and my heels. It’s been really rather good. So much so, that I’d consider repurchasing in the future.

2018 Project Pan Update 2: The Body Shop Perfume Oil in Pink Fruit Punch

I haven’t managed to use up as much of my Pink Fruit Punch perfume oil as I’d hoped. With a newborn, I keep forgetting! Wearing perfume has become an act of self care for me, so I’m going to try to get better at using it consistently every day. While I haven’t made as much progress as I’d have liked, I haven’t done badly and am sure I’ll manage to use this perfume oil up before the end of the year.
