How are we half way through the year already!?! Honestly, these past six months have flown by. So it’s time for my 2017 project pan update 2! Can you believe I’m half way through my project!?! Neither can I! If you want to see how much progress I’ve made in the past three months, how many products I’ve used up and what the total £ comes to, keep reading!
You can see my starting points for my products in my 2017 Project Pan Introduction post and catch up on my previous progress in my 2017 Project Pan Update 1 post.
All products marked with * have been gifted to me for consideration. More information can be found in my full disclaimer.
2017 project pan update 2: ThisWorks Turbo Balm – Finished on 27/4/17 New balm started 28/4/17
Since starting another ThisWorks Tubo Balm, I’ve found another hidden away in a makeup bag. As I’ve hit pan on that one and it’s definitely older, I’m going to switch to using that one up. I think I’ll be able to manage that by the next update and can then continue with the balm that I’ve recently started. While these balms retailed for £10, I got quite a few of them in a half price sale. So I’ve assumed this is one of the ones I paid £5 for and that’s how I’ve listed in my £ total.

2017 project pan update 2: The Body Shop Raspberry Lip Balm – hit pan 1/5/17
I’m really impressed with how much of The Body Shop Raspberry Lip Balm that I’ve used up. Almost a little too impressed. I’ve been using this lip balm in conjunction with something else, so I suspect continual use would only last 3 months. I’d be interested in seeing how this usage time compares to that of other lip balms. You can find out how much I like this lip balm in my The Body Shop Lip Balm Review post.
Three month’s progress on The Body Shop Born Lippy Lip Balm
As I’m doing so well with my lip balm from The Body Shop, and we’re now into summer, I’m going to throw an extra lip balm into my project. If you’ve read my Superdrug Emoji Lip Balm review, you’ll know that I like these lip balms, but that they aren’t nourishing enough for my dry, eczema prone lips in the colder weather. So, for the next 2-3 months (starting 1/7/17), I’m going to be working on my Mint Scented Lip Balm* to see how much progress I can make on it, before putting it back in my draw, ready for next summer.
2017 project pan update 2: Rimmel Lip Gloss – Finished 23/6/17
When I tried this lip gloss again, after a number of years, I was surprised buy how little pigmentation there is. I remember it being more like the Benefit Ultra Plush lip glosses. As the Rimmel lip gloss doesn’t have the level of pigmentation I want, I’ve been using it in conjunction with The Body Shop Raspberry Lip Balm, as a lip balm and am thrilled to have finished it up in just three months!
A finished Rimmel Sweet Jelly lip gloss and two Urban Decay lip glosses with their starting points marked
I’ve decided to add in two other lip glosses to my project (starting from 1/7/17). For the next 3 months, I’ll be seeing how much progress I can make on Urban Decay’s Lip Love in Failbait (peachy coral shade). Depending on the weather, I’ll switch to the Urban Decay Lip Love in Sung in September/October time. I don’t expect to use these up, or even half of what’s left, but I’d like to see some progress on them. I’m not going to use them as a lip balm like I did with the Rimmel Lip Gloss, so I expect progress to be a lot slower.
2017 project pan update 2: Nars Tinted Moisturiser
I have to admit that I haven’t used this since my last update. My energy has been low and I’ve had no need for more coverage than my MSF Natural gives. I’ll be taking this on holiday with me in August, so will hopefully see some progress by next update.
2017 project pan update 2: Barbra Daly Brow Pencil in Dark
I’m pleased with the progress I’ve made with this brow pencil, particularly as I’ve only been using it in the body of my brow, and not my brows’ tails. I don’t think I’ll have finished this brow pencil up by the end of the year, but as long as I carry on making good progress, I’ll be happy.
2017 project pan update 2: B. Setting Powder
This is another item that I haven’t used. I’ll be taking my NARS Translucent Crystal powder with me on holiday, so I’m not sure whether I’ll see any progress by next update. But I’m going to try.

2017 project pan update 2: Dior Addict Lipstick – Finished 29/6/17
I finished this! I’m actually surprised with how much progress I’ve made, as I’ve been reaching for my Benefit lip liner and lipstick more than my Dior lipstick (more on the Benefit products below). For spring and summer, I’ve been loving pairing my Dior lipstick with a bright pink lip liner. The sheer shade provides a glossy finish and mutes bright colours into something softer. I didn’t think I’d quite manage to finish this lipstick up by this update. I’m going to be keeping hold of the tube to see if I can find a dupe, as this shade is no longer available.
I’ve decided to add into this project my Benefit lip liner in Gabbi and my Benefit lipstick in Label Lover (Gabbi). These were the lip products I wore on my wedding day, and when I was a bridesmaid for my sister. I love the colours, but they are rather old now and past their best. So I’d like to use them up before they go bad. I have already been working on these two, but didn’t mark my starting point, so the mark I’ve made is as of the beginning of July. I don’t think I’ll finish either of these up, but I would like to see some progress on them over the next 6 months.
2017 project pan update 2: Exclamation perfume – Finished on 11/5/17
I’m not really sure what to say about this perfume, other than it was very old. I’ve enjoyed using it and am glad I’ve made another dent in my perfume collection. I’ve estimated this perfume at £5, as I’ve found prices higher and lower on the internet. I could’ve sworn I took a photo of this finished, but I can’t find it. So you’ll just have to take my work for it.
2017 project pan update 2: The Body Shop Vanilla – Started on 12/5/17
I’m impressed with the progress I’ve made on this perfume in just a month and a half. I’ve added it into my project pan to replace my Exclamation perfume and hope to have it finished by the end of the year. The Exclamation perfume photo also had the starting point for The Body Shop Perfume Oil. Go figure. So here’s where I am with it right now.
2017 project pan update 2: Givenchy Very Irresistible
I think I may have used this perfume once or twice, but not much. However, there isn’t much product let and I’m keeping it for special occasions. I’m sure I’ll have finished this perfume up by the end of the year. I suspect it’ll get a lot of wear over the Christmas period, if I haven’t finished it up before hand.

2017 project pan update 2: Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold
I’ve maybe used this Colour Tattoo once in the past three months. I’m very glad that I added in the Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze, so that I’m seeing progress elsewhere in my cream eyeshadow collection.
2017 project pan update 2: Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze
This has been the perfect product for me recently. It’s quick, low maintenance and requires very little energy. I’m really pleased with the progress I’ve made on this eyeshadow. I really didn’t think I was getting anywhere with it until I looked back on the photos from my previous project. My aim for the next update is to continue down and hit the side of the pot.

2017 project pan update 2: Nars Cream Blusher in Penny Lane – Hit Pan
I’ve hit pan! I’m so excited about this, though also a little sad. I know I’m no where near half way through this blusher, but I love the colour so much that the thought of finishing it up makes me sad. As Nars have discontinued their cream blusher range, I’m on the hunt for a dupe (preferably in powder form). I’m starting to get a little bored with using the same products every time I do my makeup.
Nars cream blusher at Update 1
My overall goal is to reduce the number of cream blushes in my collection. Cream products go bad much quicker than powders. As I’ve hit my goal for this project, I’m going to widen my options to all of my cream blushes. I suspect that I’ll still be reaching for Penny Lane a lot, as it’s such an easy to wear shade. So if I have significant progress on this, I’ll include it in future updates but won’t be setting a further goal for this project.

2017 project pan update 2: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Zero – Finished 24/6/17
I’m really impressed that I’ve finished my Zero Eye Pencil. However, I’m not entirely convinced that it’s all been genuine use. I had a moment when sharpening this pencil where it wouldn’t stop sharpening. It just went on, and on, and on. I couldn’t break the sharpen! So I suspect that quite a bit of product was wasted, but there was nothing I could have done differently.
I’m going to add in another Urban Decay Zero liner, because I have so many black liners. I’ve been liking how pencil liner look with just one colour on my lid, so it makes sense for me to continue working on a black liner. I probably won’t finish this eyeliner. I think finishing the previous liner in 6 months was pure fluke. So I’m just going to enjoy using the pencil and observe how much progress I make, rather than setting specific targets.
2017 project pan update 2: L’Oreal False Lash X Fiber Mascara
I should’ve added this mascara into my project in my last update, but I didn’t think of it at the time. I gave up on this mascara as it wasn’t giving me the definition and darkness my lashes need to show through my glasses. So as not to waste product, I’ve been using the primer on my lower lashes, instead of mascara. I’m going to continue to do this until the end of the year, or when the primer is finished or used up and then call this product done. If you want to know more about this mascara, check out my L’Oreal False Lash X Fiber Mascara Review.

Thank you so much! Xx
I can’t believe we are half way into the year, it’s crazy I don’t know where the time has gone either!
Madness.
As for beauty products, firstly I love NARS, their Sheer Glow foundation is incredible. Also enjoying ByTerry products and Burberry’s Cat Eye Mascara, my husband actually thinks I’m wearing falsies when I apply it :)
Hope July treats you well :)

I really want to try Sheer Glow! I’ve heard so many great things about it. I don’t wear foundation often though, so it’s going to take me a while to get through the foundations I already own. Xx
The year is definitely going fast. Once again I love your selection of makeup
Thank you so much! Xx
This is awesome! There’s a major case to be made for not being wasteful and using what we have.
I think I’ve only ever hit pan on a handful of products, mostly mattifying powders or the off lip balm here and there. I find lip products the trickiest, because they’re so easy to accumulate without realising.
You finished a whole NARS blusher!

Thank you so much! Yes, I completely agree with you. I’ve used up (or decided to get rid of) enough products to Back To MAC and get two lipsticks but I’m holding off doing so until I’ve used up more of my lipsticks. Otherwise the Back To MAC lipsticks will just sit in a draw slowly going off. I’d rather wait.
I find lip balms fairly easy to use up, but lipsticks and lip glosses are really hard. You’re right, they’re so easy to accumulate. I didn’t realise how many uses I’d get out of a lipstick until recently.
I haven’t finished the blusher yet, that’s going to take quite a while. I was impressed at the amount of pan I was able to create though! Xx
I love that you do project pans. I agree the year is going faster than my products are getting used up lol! You are making amazing progress. Keep up the great work. ♥ Elle
Thank you so much Elle! I find project pans so much fun. It’s such a rewarding feeling hitting pan on a product and then finishing it up. I’m trying to make a real effort to condense my makeup so that it’s not overwhelming and nothing goes off before I can use it up. I think lipsticks and lip glosses are going to be the hardest categories for me! Xx
