Subtle Glittery Eye And A Berry Lip

The last of my makeup looks from my holiday to Center Parcs is a subtle glittery eye and a berry lip. I love that the glittery eye is wearable, so doesn’t look over the top with a bold lip. This is definitely a look that could be worn day-to-day, or you could make the eyes more smoky for a night out.

Subtle Glittery Eye And A Berry Lip: Base

I took my staple base products for this trip. I didn’t want options, as I take ages to make decisions and didn’t want to take time away from choosing which shades for my eyes, lips and cheeks I would wear. My bases consists of the NARS Tinted Moisturiser (click the link for my review), set with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Incandescent Light.

For my concealer, I used the Pixi Corrector, to hide my pesky dark circles. Over this, I used my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (click the link for my review) and set this with my Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder.

Subtle Glittery Eye And A Berry Lip: Brows

I kept my brows simple, filling them in with my Soap & Glory Brow Archery and setting this with a clear mascara from MUA.

I started my eye look by using my MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot (click the link for my review) all over my lid and up into my crease. This is great for covering the veins in my eyelids.

I used my Smashbox Full Exposure palette for this look (click the link for my review). This was the only palette I took with me on holiday and I’ve discussed my reasons why in my review. For this look, I started by taking M4 on a fluffy brush all over my eye lid, through my crease and up onto my brow bone.

For my crease, I applied the shade M2 with a clean fluffy brush. I then took my MAC 239 brush and dipped it in a little water. With this damp brush, I applied the shade S3 all over my lid. I find that the glitter shades are more pigmented when used wet. Despite this, the lighter shades are still definitely wearable when applied wet.

I applied M1 into my outer V to give a little definition. To make my eyes pop, I added my GOSH white eyeliner in the inner corners of my eyes and then applied winged liner with my Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner. I love this eyeliner so much, it’s super easy to use.

To finish the eye look, I applied the Kiss False Lashes in Ritzy and added mascara to my bottom lashes to balance these out.

This is very similar to the eye look I created in my Natural Warm Toned Eye And A Bright Pink Lip post.

Subtle Glittery Eye And A Berry Lip: Cheeks

I’m actually annoyed about my cheeks in this photo. I didn’t use the shade I wore on holiday! My memory is so bad at the moment that I got my looks muddled up. Ugh! Anyway…

To contour, I used my NYX blusher in Taupe. This is such a great natural contour shade for those of us with light complexions. For highlighter, I use my Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal.

The blusher shade I meant to use, was my Bobbi Brown blusher in Nude Peach. This shade goes so well with the warmth of the eye look and the berry lip tone. Unfortunately, I got myself in a muddle and applied my Bobbi Brown blusher in Slopes. This is still a really pretty shade and goes well with the look, but I REALLY liked the look of Nude Peach.

Subtle Glittery Eye And A Berry Lip: Lips

For my lips, I used two Rimmel Products. The lipliner I used was the Exaggerate Liner in Obsession, with the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 107 over the top. I love this combination! It’s a great option when going out to eat, as the lipstick is matte without being drying.

  1. I recently got the Rimmel Kate Moss 107 lipstick and I LOVE IT!!! I didn’t think it would look great on me, it looked dark on most swatches I saw but it is awesome!! :)

  2. Sorry can I clarify as a very basic make up user, did you use lip liner over your entire lip? And did the colour of the lipliner have to be the same as your lip stick exactly? Thanks :)

    • There’s no need to apologise Ellen. For this look, I chose to cover my entire lip with a lip liner and then apply lipstick. This helped the colour stay put when I was eating. It isn’t necessary to do this or even to use a lipliner if you don’t want to. I try to use lip liners that are close to the lipstick shade, but it doesn’t have to be exact. If you use two shades that are very different, you effectively create a new shade. So a berry liner with a nude lipstick gives a much more natural, muted shade. I hope that helps! Xx
