Another year, another project pan completed! I’m really pleased to have used up a total of 12 products – two above my goal. Plus, I’ve used up £79.80 worth of products that might have otherwise have expired and gone to waste. So, if you want to know what I managed to finish up this year and what I thought about those products, my 2018 project pan finale is for you!

2018 Project Pan Finale: Dr PawPaw Peach Pink Balm – Finished 8/12/18
If you’ve read my Dr PawPaw Original Balm review, you’ll know that I love this multi-purpose balm. It’s great for soothing sore, dry and cracked skin. But, while I love the skincare results of the tinted balms, I just don’t get on with tints. I’ve found them to smudge out of place on the lips and leave a tint even after washing. While I’d probably use them on my cheeks (though cautiously because of the staining effect), I have lots of blushes that I love, so they’re a bit redundant in my routine. As a result, I decided to pan my Pink Peach balm, to encourage myself to use it up rather than wasting it.
I’ve used this balm on my cracked heels during the colder months, when socks are a must (so covering up the tint stain). I’m pleased to say that earlier this month I finished this tube! I wasn’t sure that was going to be possible, so I’m really pleased. I’d definitely buy the original balm in the future, but won’t be repurchasing one of the tinted versions (though I do have two more to use up).
2018 Project Pan Finale: Superdrug Emoji Lip Balm* – Retired 31/10/18
Having consistently worked on using this lip balm up, I have to say that I like it more than when I wrote my emoji lip balm review post (and I’ve added a note in this post to that effect). It’s more moisturising than I remember it to be. Though that being said, it might be that my lips are in a better condition now. Who knows! While I was able to use this lip balm into the slightly colder months (which previously I’ve not been able to do), it still wasn’t moisturising enough to see me through winter. So, I retired this lip balm at the end of October. I’m happy with the progress I’ve made on it though – I’d say I’m about half way through it.
2018 Project Pan Finale: Papaya Gold Balm – Started 31/10/18, finished 29/12/18
If you’ve read my Papaya Gold Pawpaw balm review, you’ll know how much I love this product! As I got two for my hospital bag, I decided to try to use one up. I’ll definitely be repurchasing it in the future.
2018 Project Pan Finale: DHC mascara*
Unfortunately, the DHC mascara did nothing for my lashes at all. So, I’ve been trying to use it up on my lower lashes. While the wand on this brush is fantastic for getting to my bottom lashes, I don’t feel I need two different mascaras open at the same time (especially not when this one costs £15.90!). As this mascara has been open for quite a while, I’m going to retire it and won’t be purchasing another.
2018 Project Pan Finale: L’Oreal Skin Perfection
I must admit that I’ve not done very well with making progress on my L’Oreal Skin Perfection balm. I just keep forgetting to use it! I’ve finally realised that this is probably because I’ve been keeping it in my makeup bag, rather than the bathroom with my moisturiser. This will probably be making it’s way into another project pan in the future and I won’t be buying another when it’s used up.
2018 Project Pan Finale: Soap & Glory Brow Archery – Finished 13/10/18
If you’ve read my Soap & Glory Brow Archery review, you’ll know that I really like this product, but that the shade ‘Brownie Points’ isn’t quite right for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very close to the shade I’m after, but it’s not quite there. So I thought I’d make an effort to use it up and I’m really pleased that I’ve managed it. I now only have one brow pencil, which is just where I want to be.I may repurchase another Soap & Glory Brow Archery in the future, but I’m hoping that I’ll find a shade that I like better (or that Soap & Glory increase their shade range – pretty please!).
2018 Project Pan Finale: The Body Shop Perfume Oil in Pink Fruit Punch – Finished 26/10/18
I bought a few of The Body Shop’s Perfume Oils when I started going out with Dan, because he’s allergic to alcohol and at the time, perfumes caused him to have an allergic reaction. We’ve been together approximately 10 years, so they definitely needed using up! Pink Fruit Punch was the last of my Perfume Oils and I’m really pleased that I’ve managed to finish it, particularly as Dan can now safely tolerate perfume. The Body Shop don’t seem to make these any more, which is a shame, as I know there are people who prefer low/no alcohol options. I really enjoyed working on using up my Perfume Oils, putting on perfume daily (or as close as possible) has definitely been that little bit of self care that I’ve needed during Elise’s newborn days and beyond. Plus, it’s inspired me to add some self care products into my 2019 project!
