Gold Glitter Eyeliner Look

Today, I wanted to share with you a gold glitter eyeliner look. I wore this look out for a meal with Dan’s colleagues. I’m be wearing the same look today to the cinema to see Rogue One, but have switched the berry lip for a classic red. This look is perfect for the festive season!

I’m a little nervous about this post. It’s the first time you’ll see my under eye circles in all their dark glory. Please remember that I have a number of chronic illnesses. Pain keeps me awake at night. I cover them the best I can with concealer, but I’ve never been completely happy with the results. Any recommendations for concealers and correctors are greatly appreciated!

Gold Glitter Eyeliner: Eyes

I started the look by priming my eyes with my MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot. To get a nice, crisp line, I applied tape to the sides of my eyes. I didn’t want the tape to remove concealer, so I started my eyes for this look.

For my eyeshadow, I decided to use all matte shades from the Too Faced Semi-Sweet palette. This is a beautiful palette. I’ve never worn only matte eyeshadow before, but I thought it would look better with the glitter of the eyeliner.

I started by applying Coconut Creme all over my lid and up onto my brow bone. For my crease, I started with Mousse and then added Nougat to my eyelid. I wanted to deepen up my crease, so I took Peanut Butter through about 3/4 of my crease, and then added Truffled to the outer 1/2 of my crease. I really like the crease this creates and am going to try it with different lid colours.

My next step was to add my gold glitter eyeliner. I started with the glitter rather than the black eyeliner as it will give a neater finish. I used a gold liner from a Christmas set from Studio at Superdrug. The set has found different coloured glitters, as well as a black liner for just £6! I took the gold glitter eyeliner slightly higher than I wanted my black eyeliner to be. I made this a little thicker than I wanted it, so that I could apply the black over the top and have no gaps between the black and the gold.

Once the gold had dried, I added my black winged liner. I know I’ve raved about the Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner, but for this look I wanted to try the Studio black liner. I have to say I was impressed! It gives a darker black than the Soap & Glory, which I think is ideal for this look.

I added two coats of my Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara on my top lashes, before moving on to my base. Once I completed my base products, I came back to my eyes and added some of the gold glitter eyeliner to the inner portion of my lower lash line. I finished this off with a coat of my Urban Decay Perversion Mascara.

Gold Glitter Eyeliner: Base

For this look, I used my go-to base at the moment. This consists of my NARS Tinted Moisturiser, Pixi Colour Corrector, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder and Hourglass Incandescent Light (though I forgot to apply this when recreating the look for you!).

Gold Glitter Eyeliner: Brows

For this look, I went for my go-to brow products at the moment. I used my Soap & Glory Brow Archery to fill in my brows, then set this with the MUA Clear Mascara. This is a quick but effective way for me to make my brows look presentable.

I decided to contour and highlight using my Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette. I picked this as I thought the warm highlighter shade would complement the gold glitter eyeliner. For my blusher, I used Bobbi Brown’s Nude Peach. This is the shade I meant to use in my Subtle Glittery Eye And A Berry Lip look. I’m really pleased that I can show you just how good Nude Peach looks with warm eyes and a berry lip.

Gold Glitter Eyeliner: Lips

As we were eating, I chose a matte lip and I was very impressed at how well it held up. I didn’t need to reapply after eating! The combination I chose was my Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Obsession with the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 107 over the top.

Will you be wearing glitter eyeliner this Christmas?

    • Aww!!! Thank you so much! I tried a similar look using grey shades from the Smashbox Full Exposure palette and the silver glitter eyeliner that came in the Studio set. I was really pleased with the results. Xx

  1. Tan you look so beautiful! I love this make up look! ❤️

    • Thank you so much Holly! It’s taken some practice, but it was a lot easier once I figured out that it works best when the glitter line goes on first. Xx
